I meant the closed back model, which has been mentioned earlier.

Finally received my SE-Master 1, first impressions, dynamic base, does treble very well... not as dynamic as the Utopia but it is one hell of a headphone by its own merits... now to burn it in before further impressions...

Have a Q French Silk cable incoming bought off the for sale forum - want to confirm the connectors at the headphone are MMCX. Correct?

Going to have Ted at Headphone Lounge work his magic.................have this cable on my Denon LA7000 - absolutely a great, soft and flexible cable. Stocker is fine (ok, a bit reminiscent of the stock Denon aka too long and too thick) but I want a short (4'ish) one for my main listening area.

Are the ear pads replaceable on the Master 1 or are they partially glued on?

Also, for those in the know, what other open headphones would you say closely approximate the Master 1 sound signature? I have a Beyerdynamic DT1990 Pro now that I really like and I've tried quite a few others lately (e.g. Elear, 800s) but don't have experience with any Pioneer or open headphones in the $2K range.

Closest sound I can compare is the HE-6 fed from speaker taps from a vintage speaker amp.

And at the time I thought nothing would match that setup.  Happily wrong again.
