Mono amps = better imaging than stereo is pure nonsense. The only thing a pair of mono amps can give you over an equally powered stereo amp is the possibility of better channel separation. Everything else is equally possible in a stereo configuration.

Better channel separation has everything to do with imaging. Your statement seems to contradict itself.

With the Magni 2 and Magni 2 Uber both being replaced by the Magni 3, there are now fewer headphone amps than there previously were.

The Magni 3 has even better specs than the single-ended Jotunheim: more power across the board, and a 900 kHz -3dB upper frequency response!

I am kind of a noob on amps still, can anyone tell me what the point of a pre-amp is on a headphone amp so powerful as the Magni 3? What scenario would I ever need to use a pre-amp alongside the Magni 3? I just don't understand. That being said, this is amazing price point... now if they could just get me a Modi 3 at $79 to match the Massdrop SDAC in quality, which first reviews are saying sounds a touch, just a touch, nicer than Modi 2 Uber. gimme schiit stack 3 and don't make me wait plez
