Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Qobuz selected a chunky riff-tastic metal album as its Album of the Week and I think that's just so freaking rad.

Edit: Just did a listen through and man, it's classic stoner metal that just does everything right. Everything! 🤘🏻

I felt that way when Chick Corea passed on, out of the blue.
Chick, who I had seen live not too long before his passing, and Charlie Haden, who had signed a CD for my son the last time I heard him (at the now-closed Yoshi's SF) and would soon get on a steep decline from late consequences of his childhood polio. The two albums that got me into modern jazz were A.R.C. (Corea) and Old and New Dreams (Haden). When I heard of Haden's passing, I took the weekend to re-listen to his work, the most emotional music experience I've had outside a live performance.

They seem like good cables. They are well built. But I honestly haven't had much time with the WBC cables yet. I ordered them on March 8th and just received them yesterday. But so far so good
I own some of those with locking RCA connectors and they are quite good, I want to say they might use Mogami cable but it is late and I am much to lazy to look.🤪 I saw some PYST cables years ago and they are good as well.🤪 A big thing with using a flexible cable on mini gear is for it to have a bend radius so it does not lift the light devices or tip them up.

I think many artists have released something knowing their end was near. Leonard Cohen's You Want it Darker really shook me.
Indeed, You Want it Darker is unflinching. Very different, but also premonitory is Keith Jarrett & Charlie Haden's Last Dance.

PYST flex well for this application.

Great info!
I am facing several projects or I would offer to gift you some various interconnect cables. 😉 I have been known to make one or two in the past.

Yep I figured they would. I build all my own cables including USB so I am not always familiar with other products. I did buy a cargo van full of gear and there were some WBC in that lot and when I was in the industry I received a lot of samples. Now I am but a simple woodworker and cat wrangler.🤪

I think Finnegan may argue that he is a "human wrangler".

Bill Frisell has a new live album out on Blue Note (via Qobuz), with his usual partners Thomas Morgan and Rudy Royston, backed by two different orchestras in Europe. This time it's the mellower, elegiac Frisell rather than his note-bending, chord-twisting anarchic twin. I can't get enough Frisell.

Very true.🤪 IMG_7798.jpeg

Today Finnegan spent a good eight hours trying to find the baby squirrel he fostered yesterday. Thunderstorms and cool weather may have forced it back into the woods.

If looking for non-NOS, the Genalex Gold Lions are great sounding tubes to my ears.

Otherwise, get a 6922 to 5670 adapter and roll some Bendix tubes into it. $25 each with $8 shipping to the US. From vacuum tubes.net.
Thanks @mystaiced - this is the kind of info I was looking for, as I had no idea that the 5670s would work. Will get the adaptors and a pair of 5670s; the price is right.

This. They’re my favorite 6922, NOS or not.
Thanks for the second on the recommendation, man. Found a matched pair for <$150 and they are ordered. Cheers!

Next in my queue on the downstairs rig. Thank you, sir!

Far too kind of you, as usual. 😊

I'll reach out once I am finally able to get those Zu's and an Aegir 2 into my home. I'm sincerely hoping it can be this year!

But we really need a new car, too...

Taut, intricate. Not a happy story, but so layered and ultimately hopeful. Marta Sánchez (the jazz composer and pianist, not the singer) is getting up there in Sylvie Courvoisier stratosphere. On Bandcamp and other sources.

I am also a fan of Gold Lions, or, if you can find them, Amperex White labels.
