I have had my 700's for about a month now but has had very little use. I use them exclusively with my Pan am since I find them bright with my Magni2. My main complaint is the wire. Man oh man did someone in the Sennheiser plant rub those wires with Viagra?

Pardon me for this question. Does anyone have MDR Z7 alongside HD700? would you mind doing a comparison? I'm looking for advices and not so biased. I have JH13FP and HD700, HD700 for use with Schiit Valhalla and it's kinda hot in treble sometimes that would be fatiguing though I do really love details in music.

Doesn't even compare at all TBH: I auditioned a MDR-Z7 alongside the HD700, and the MDR-Z7 was -dark-. Nowhere near the amount of soundstage or detailing, but the Z7 had a fantastic build quality.

I have them both atm and as you wrote, Z7 has a darker soundsignature and HD700 better soundstage and details indeed...

Z7 however sounds great (scales up in an incredible way) when I listen in balanced mode (stock balanced cables are included with Z7) from my Pono player

About a week ago some posted that the cable was not that bad anymore, what you describe is the one that I got

Yes...and because of that you can keep on listening all night long

HD 700 is without any doubt the absolutely most comfy headphones on this planet.

Some people might disagree: http://www.head-fi.org/t/728006/sonys-new-flagship-2014-mdr-z7/5895#post_11915593
Imo Z7 and HD700 are both extremely comfortable and about on par

I only have ZX2 and don't any devices supporting balance mode. Do you think it's worth selling my HD700 to get Z7 single-ended? I mean would you if you were me?

Nope I wouldn't do that if I were you...unless you prefer a darker soundsignature with less details and smaller soundstage...
The day I decide to sell my Pono player is the day I would also put my Z7 for sale

Thanks alot, already took down my ebay listing for HD700. 1 min late  and i could be regretting
What would recommend to get more for my current set up . Schiit Valhalla (tube rollable) as amp and ZX2 as source. Also Would someone here recommend me a good upgrade cable maker? i wonder what would be the best, silver-plated cooper, hybrid or Litz pure silver. Thanks in advance

Do you think Litz is better than other material? don't u think it just makes the treble too bright?
