In my case yes. It started getting better at 40 hrs and improved more from there. However they never sounded edgy to me, tight yes.

I'm noticing my warranty replacement pair is not sounding as good out of the box. Need to let them play all weekend to get them back to where they were.

EDIT: Seems to be using LC4 on the Pixel 8, it works much much better than I expected. Windows 11 seems to be using LE but not LC3 (????). At least the latency in windows games is really high, unlike on the pixel 8.

I am normally a wired IEM user but bought a set of XM5 duty free when returning after a holiday last October. I haven’t used them much but recently started messing with EQ in the app to try and make them closer to my preferred sound with wired IEM.

I ended up with the below which was based on an EQ I saw a page or two back but with a tiny touch more bass than in that suggested EQ offset by a bit more treble to add a little top end sparkle which is my preference.

Might be worth a try for someone.

Yes, there is a profile. I recently got a pair of XM5s, after being a user of XM4s and loving them. The XM5s are an amazing improvement in so many ways. With the Wavelet target profile, compared to the XM4, it doesn't change in character nearly as drastically. In otherwards, Sony did a much better job with these as far as getting them closer to a reasonable flat response untouched. Wavelet of course snaps it into focus. For me on the XM4s, I found I had to trim the HF down about .5db to remove what I felt was some excess in that region. Here the same tuning is necessary but in the bass region, about .5db ....tiny correction, leaving deep bass alone. Result is incredible, and surpassing the XM4 in clarity, perceived distortion levels, resolution -- and comfort.

Anyone have problems with google assistant not working?

Usually I just hold the right bud and it reads the notifications, but today that did not work.

Also not responding to hey google.. so set it up again. press and hold right bud, get the beep but no assistant.

same issue on another phone. android 11 and 12.

Anyone know how to get the Amazon music service double tap to work? It says it's setup and it launches Amazon from the app launch test. But if I double tap the left button it says apps assigned to quick acces is not launched on mobile device.

These have been quirky as all get out. Enough I was thinking I will return. But the sound is growing on me... LOL.

Using an old pair of Sony hybrid tips. Looking to see if I have some Technics tips still. If I can find those I will use the Panasonic link to order so large as those have a filter and are very comfy. This is assuming I decide to keep these.

I just want to setup Amazon as I use that app alot and want to use the feature. Not searching for flaws but solutions.

Most of the other issues I had, have been solved.

It been a more bumpier ride than past Sony products but is slowly getting resolved. So any help would be appreciated.

I don't use the double tap feature but I have the same issue. It only works if the app is already open in the background.

Thanks, I have the app open in the background and it doesn't even work then.

This is a nice to have feature though, not like some of the other initial issues I had that were more frustrating making the XM5 hard to use. I was having issues with chat to speak and skip ahead. Skip ahead would skip to the next track but then pause instead of playing the song. Chat to speak would kick in for a second then start playing music and do that over and over.

Found my Technics large tips and they fit. But feel a bit loose in ear so might buy the extra large pair. But will test for a couple days first.

It's a toss up for comfort between these and the Elite 10. These are smaller in ear making them more comfy but also looser feeling. For sleep they cause me less discomfort. The oval tip system of the Elite has a smidge less pressure when walking around.

Will see if this handles wind better. The Elite 10 does it automatically and it's only so so at eliminating wind.
