Orb's midrange sounds vivid and more lush, more forward, and definitely of higher resolution. Thickness of overall body, especially the midrange, is better. Weight of notes also exceeds on the Orb. Bass articulation, bass details, midbass body goes to Orb as well. Fan's midrange has thinner lower section, a bit more forward in the upper section without having sibilance. Treble feels more airy on the Fan than Orb's, also has more sparkle and presence, albeit being a little bit thin sounding in comparison and also has that plasticky sound as others call it. The Fan edges the Orb in terms of soundstage width, IMO. Orb excels more on depth and height on the other hand.

ISN H40 also sounds higher in resolution having a more natural treble tonality due to it's far better driver configuration. Midbass of H40 also has way more thump even than Orb's.

The closest and the more fair comparison would be the ISN D02 having the same driver configuration. Fan OOTB, I can already say that it edges the D02 in many areas. I'll go on detail with that soon as I haven't fully immersed myself on listening to the Fan.

Haven't heard the FH3 yet so I can't comment on that.

Loving the look as well. Gorgeous stabwood+resin finish with its box made of woven material, having a traditional Asian fabric pattern. Just gorgeous.
I doubt the D02 is closest to it, going by the original price, Penon Fan is more than 1.5 times costlier than D02. I hope Fan's performance also excel over D02 in such a way? Kindly let me know. Thinking of buying it on 16th. I in fact sold my D02 for buying the Fan.

@Penon no information on the driver diaphragm material? Or are you trying to focus on the performance rather than gimmicky words?

I wasn't that clear when I said "closest." But don't get me wrong, I didn't say they're similar. If you read my post again and look at it from the intended perspective, I was pertaining to the difference of the Fan against the IEMs mentioned in the question I replied to.

The D02 comes across as somewhat bright, not much overemphasized anywhere, same as the Fan. Though they will differ in overall resolution, naturalness, soundstage, where Fan excels better.

I really don’t need another IEM, let alone another single DD IEM, but that faceplate, box, and intro price are very difficult to ignore. As is Penon’s track record.

The Penon Audio FAN has some nice warmth with great clarity. I wish I can go into further detail but I have sooooo many classes this week.

Same like you but I love my pocket iem (Reecho Insects Awaken) that I didn’t listen cheaper in mobility, at home I use Volt and others.
I’d buy fan cause is like a magnet and I’m sure it will be a good deal...

Haha! The design alone is worthy of having one in an IEM collection.

Owning the iBasso IT01 in the past, I believe it was priced almost similar to Fan or a little more expensive. Both in sub $200. IIRC, IT01 has much stronger bass and a more V-shaped signature. Treble was more natural than Fan but that's all. As for other things, driver flex was present in the IT01 but non-existent in the Fan. If one can get the Fan for half the price, I'd say that's definitely a steal deal right there.

Spring 2, DK-2001, DM7, T800 are not so unpopular either.

Re; FAN
Concerns about smartphone noise, playback power.
My 8 yo 1x+, only 0.38v is more than loud, i.e. concert hall loud.
Using Neutron, No noise, black background, just Music to you ears...
