Penon shipped today, usually I have to wait no about 20 to 30 days. Really excited, first 1DD IEM that I will own and looking forward how Fan can compete to FH3, H40 and Orb (last two I don't own anymore, just can compare from my experience).

Owning all three (FH3, H40, and Orb), the first one I would dump would most definitely be the FH3.

The other 2 (IMO, of course) are masters of what they do in a small, affordable package.

Liked the H40 more than the FH3, but they were just too uncomfortable for me and I hab serious driver flex. FH3 just snug into my ears.

Orb would be better for me if it were more emphasized in the upper range.

So in general I would say that H40 and Orb are better IEMs and the FH3 is a compromise because of the downsides of the H40 and the Orb.
But still a really good compromise of course.

And I understand you. For me, if it's not comfortable, it's a non-starter. In fact, I keep all my IEMs segregated into 2 categories. Those I can sleep with (small and fitting enough to allow me to sleep on my side), and the others. The Orb is one of my favorite "sleepers".

Agree with you. The tuning is also so relaxing!

I have the Penon Fan being delivered on Monday 18th hopefully. I'm sure I will pay some extra duty and charges through Fedex, but so be it. I don't have the higher end Penon IEM's, the Orb or the Volt to compare it with. I'll be comparing with the ISN DO2, iBasso it00, the Moondrop Starfield and the KBear Believe.......all single DD's. They are a very good looking package. Penon are at the top of their game at the moment.
I am interested what they sound like from a 4.4mm with some extra power. I'll be using them through a iFi Hip-Dac 4.4mm or a HiBy R5 4.4mm. Does more juice make much of a difference with them?

- picky source
- bass focus on mid bass and lack sub-bass, also lack texture compared to what Fan offers
- Thin mids

I think Believe more excel on string instrument, but overall enjoyment i will choose Penon Fan, Fan easier to drive

I recently received the Sphere and was impressed with the range of the single BA. At first I thought it was too bass-lite, but my brain adapted.

The Fan is arriving Tuesday -- will be interested to compare.

Yep, me too just ordered Penon Fun as I can't get it out of my mind . It will replace the TRN v90 as I cannot stand its sound sig

Should be a lot better than v90, less v-shaped, more controlled treble (no harsh at all), no sibilance, and smoother presentation

You're not alone, I didn't resist that long though, at that price and with that lovely case/box it was just too hard to pass.
