Wavetheory IMHO is not legit , he is praising Hifiman like nothing else exists, like EF400 was out of the world had all bells and whistles stomping everything.. Passion for sound reviewed D70Pro OCTO more realistically but that just my opinion and everyone has one. I will definitely get OCTO and write about it after proper listen.

Uhhh, it's quite a rough review... Interesting, because he is the only one who mentions this collapsing sound when playing complex music. Interesting, because I feel the same listening to my DX5 Lite. So there's a chance that he's got a point.

I think Passion for Sound is the real deal. Probably, Wave Theory just doesn't like neutral sound.

I share a same opinion, wave theory will have his favorites and Z will like everything and after a month have a big yard sale.
Passion for sound from realistical point of view explains pro's & cons and brings the conclusion. Wave and Z are likely getting to say certain stuff at the end of the day while passion from sound doesnt feel like that. He will not recommend for example Schiit stuff over Toppings at the certain value even though he has been having one on one interviews with Jason Stoddard (Schiit director) and they seems almost as friends. Just my 2 cents..

Can someone confirm that D70 Pro OCTO has channel balance setting in the menu?

I have a slight hearing damage in my left ear (~1,5 dB, not a big deal, only detectable via headphones), and I need a DAC that has that option.
Sadly that's why I have skipped Musician Draco
