After my experiences with the Violectric V380, I was very happy to see Violectric adding this DHA V226 to their line up. I have not personally heard it, but I like the smaller footprint compared to the V380 and the addition of the 4.4mm balanced out. I will quote Violectric here (spelling errors and all 😉).

The Violectric DHA V226 is a newly product in the Violectric range. It offers a competitive D/A converter, a balanced headphone amplifier and a pre-amp function. The D/A converter is based on Cirrus CS 43131 with typical 130 dB dynamic range and THD as low as -115 dB. It comes with a USB-C terminal and supports PCM signals up to 32 bits and 384 kHz sample rate as well as DSD up to 256.

The roots of the headphone amplifier circuitry can be found in its praised and rewards winning predecessors V200, V280 and V281. Inside DHA V226 is features the similar natural but smooth and pleasing sound.

Because ot its matchless technology DHA V226 not only offers a powerful headphone amplifier, but also:

- LOWEST NOISE through a very small amount of internal gain. This makes the amplifier's self-generated noise inaudible.

- HIGH OUTPUT VOLTAGE through 50 V internal operating voltage. Therefor ideally suited for high-impedance headphones deserving high output voltage swing.

- HIGH OUTPUT POWER thanks to powerful amplifiers that offer far more power even the most demanding headphones would need. So best suited for headphones with low impedances as well as magnetostatic headphones !!

- HIGH DAMPING FACTOR due to lowest output impedance. Therefor the ideal match for difficult to drive headphones without negative side effects and with the guarantee for a uncompromising frequency response.

It is on you:
D/A converter? Headphone amplifier? Pre-amplifier? Any combination ? The headphone outputs or the rear line outputs can be activated/deactivated by a switch on the front. Connect not only your headphones to the DHA V226 but also your power amplifier or your active speakers and enjoy a compact and fantastic sounding headphone amplifier with topnotch D/A converter and a first-class preamplifier

No one?
Could not find anything in my 5 minute google search on this amp...
So I ordered one - IT'S ON FRIED!

On first listen, it sounds a bit flat and on the brighter side. Hoping it burns in if that's a thing- so far it does not remind of any of the older Violectric amps (V281, V200). Good detail in the treble but the bass is a bit soft. Not the warm SS amp I was looking for as of yet.

Hi.

Sorry, my english is not very good!

I am also interested in the Violectric DHA V226.

I was finally able to find a suitable post on the internet for this amp.
That's why I registered here in the forum.

Thanks for your contributions.

I hope the sound got better?

Have you seen any improvement yet?

I was advised to burn in the amp for 7 days, 24 hours a day. Will report back here after.

The V226 is the sweet spot in Vioelectric line of products.
Tons of great performance for the least money.
The included DAC is a free bonus, for the lazy or the minimalist.
Good old tubey - like V280 but with slightly enhanced technicalities, more controlled, expansive, better detail and clarity.
Can't touch the V550 technicalities but it is more musical. (yes I said it!)
Best overall value SS amp I have tested up to 2K.

The v226 is pure joy. With my modded 6XX, modded HE500 or LCD2.2 pre fazor, what ever I throw at it it rewards me with musical bliss.
Yes it sounds better with better DAC's, good! Thats how it should be!
Fried hit a homerun with this one - endgame before "true" engame. If you want to enjoy music instead of seeing every atom move in the track (not that you can't with better DAC's).
Wanna hear your HD6X0 for the fist time? This is the one to stop at paired with a Bifrost 2 or Soekris 2541 for either slightly darker and lievelier or smoother and a touch more neutral before going all out.

I'm interested in this little amp. I need an amp with a 4.4mm output and this seems to fit the bill. I was always a fan of the V281 that I use to own. The V226 seems to retain that sound with better technicalities.

...and a good bit closer to neutral than the V281, which I like a lot.

Anyone tested the V380 mk2 vs the V226?

Agreed, it’s more neutral than the older Violectric gear. I haven’t tried another DAC with it yet, and it’s my suspicion that the Cirrus chip adds the brighter tonality.
It smoothes out a bit after a while, but yes there is DS digitus in the highs - still not bad and good enough as a one stop solution.
I am spoiled by my main system - but this is the first of the less expensive amps I am satisified with being my desk rig.
