If you bug Peter a bit more he will build you a balanced amp... though I am not sure as to the cost. Mine doesn't drive the K1000's all that well, but I wasn't going for that. You would probably need to have transformer output to make them happy. This would also have the added benifit of allowing it to drive Grado's quite well. My amp does a fair job with Grado's, but again, it is not ideal.

It is not balanced but it has plenty of power and can run the K1000s with authority out of it's speaker output while also having some 650s plugged into the headphone jack. you can switch on the fly b/w the two cans. also I got some upgraded tubes for it (NOS Bendix 5992(6V6) and 2 NOS RCA 6U8A) and a 650 w/ 20ft cardas for under $1K for everything. next buy is a k1000.
