@Yamil Pretty late response, but I'd say so, yeah. The HD600's sound the most "normal" to my ears, if that makes sense. Other than bass extension, it (mostly) just sounds right.- RMesser9

K701 thread
Yesterday, I learned quite a bit about my K701s. They are extremely picky when it comes to positioning, but I was able to get a really, really nice sound out of them. What I discovered was that if I put the thick side of the pads in the front instead of the rear, I get a much better seal. If I...- RMesser9

Review by 'RMesser9' on item 'Rikubuds Alter Rider 3 / Saber 3'
INTRO Last year, I got interested in earbuds, mainly for the comfort and more natural sound. At the time I got the Sivga M200 and RikuBuds Alter Archer 1. Eventually, I stopped using them and went back to my over-ear headphones. Couple months ago, I decided to listen to these earbuds again and...- RMesser9

RikuBuds Hangout
After a few days with the stock white foam, I decided to try out the blue foam, or medium-density foam. Simply put, the sound out of these is much more aligned to what I consider to be "correct." Plus, it seems to fit Riku's description of Saber 3 more accurately to my ears. Boosted...- RMesser9

RikuBuds Hangout
I received my RikuBuds Saber 3 yesterday. First impressions are...wow. Firstly, build quality is really good. The shell is light, smooth, and well-built. The cable is sturdy and never gets tangled up. My only complaint is that it is non-detachable. Fit and comfort are perfect. Finally, an...- RMesser9

Earbuds Round-Up
Been a while since I've posted here, but I wanted to give my thoughts on the Sivga M200 as promised. I wrote a review on it last year, and since then, some thoughts have changed, some of it not. A few notes: Before measuring, I noticed channel imbalance in the bass and upper-mids. The left bud...- RMesser9

Earbuds Round-Up
Oh cool! I'll have to get one of his buds again. I really want to give them a proper chance since the build quality is really good, and I had a good experience purchasing one from him. I think the Alter Rider 3 may be close to what I prefer.- RMesser9

Earbuds Round-Up
About a year ago, I got the RikuBuds Alter Archer 1 (AA1) and only listened to them for a little bit. First impressions at the time were that they were pretty good but uncomfortable. My sound preferences have since changed, especially since I got studio monitors and recently got into drums, and...- RMesser9

Interesting that your unit didn't come with the complete foams like mine did. I had a bad experience with the donut foams, as they kept slipping off. I loved my M200's before it broke. I'll have to get it again at some point, because I really, really enjoyed the sound.- RMesser9

I will say I don't have a lot of experience with the more expensive stuff, but I have heard the K701 and NTH-100. In comparison, the K701's are very thin in the bass and lower-mids, and pretty shouty in the upper-mids. The treble is actually something I quite like, though it is much brighter and...- RMesser9

Good review! Even though I disagree with a lot of things you bring up, specifically the midrange, treble and instrument separation, it's pretty refreshing to read a different take on it. Interestingly enough, I listened to the tracks you mentioned, and I found them to sound really good on my 600's.- RMesser9

Review by 'RMesser9' on item 'Sennheiser HD 600'
The Sennheiser HD 600 needs no introduction. These legendary headphones have been reviewed by many, so what do I have to add? First, I would like to talk about why I decided to purchase these many years ago. Some Random Backstory In December 2019, I got into the audio world with the Sennheiser...- RMesser9

K701 thread
Yeah, today I used the K701's after not using them for a while. It sounds very thin and anemic with stock pads. The Yaxi pads are the only way I can listen with them now. They give just enough fullness and warmth in the bass and low-mids for my preference (though bass won't rumble), and the...- RMesser9

Earbuds Round-Up
So, I just got Heigi Full Foams for my Sivga M200's, which I wrote a review about more than three months ago. First impressions are positive. It retains that mid-centric tuning which I enjoy, but the overall presentation is a bit warmer, smoother, and more cohesive. In comparison, the stock full...- RMesser9

K701 thread
Well, I am ready to give my first impressions on the K701 with the Yaxi K712/Q701 Comfort Pads. TL;DR: The sound changes from a cold, analytical sound, to a smooth, midrange-focused sound. It retains the signature 2kHz shout. Comfort I already thought the stock pads were pretty comfortable...- RMesser9

Regardless of that weird issue I'm having , it's still a spectacular headphone, no doubt about that. :) The midrange is sublime.- RMesser9

It definitely is the upper treble, it's just way up there. It's bothered me for a long time, and I could never figure out where exactly it was until recently. I did use EqualizerAPO to tame it, and it solved the issue I had. Filter: ON PK Fc 16000 Hz Gain -10.80 dB Q 2.0 I discovered that as...- RMesser9

Definitely not strange at all. If it's a great headphone, it's a great headphone. Let me know about how the audition went, and how the experience was paired with the 701. I haven't tried a streamer yet.- RMesser9

K701 thread
They seem to be Alcantara-type pads. They're the only pads Yaxi sells for the K7 series. I'm not sure how similar the Q701 is to the K701, but the pads are supposed to smooth out the highs and give more warmth to the sound. I thought about getting Dekoni Fenestrated Sheepskin or Velour pads...- RMesser9

I just purchased some Yaxi pads which should be coming in Friday. They were meant for the Q701 and K712, but I got it out of sheer curiosity to hear they compare to the stock pads.- RMesser9

K701 thread
Every once in a while, I get this itch to put on my K701s, like today. A couple things that surprised me. The bass is lean and does roll off, but it can sound quite satisfying on certain tracks, such as "Look Away" by Lo-Fang and "Armored Prayer" by Steve Jablonsky. Strangely enough, I find the...- RMesser9

People have talked about how an OTL amp can help, and I'm sure it does, but I'm not sure if I want to go down that rabbit hole yet 😂. For now, I'd rather just get a darker tuned headphone/IEM that suits my preferences, which I found couple already.- RMesser9

That's more than likely it. I do have a couple headphones/earbuds that roll-off the treble, and I found them to be a more pleasant, smoother listening experience for harsher recordings. I do love the forward mids of the HD600's though, it's probably my favorite part of the sound.- RMesser9
