Astell&Kern To Debut SP3000T DAP and NOVUS IEMs at CanJam NYC 2024

I'm also interested. What's the battery life like? Can you guys please give a measurement playing dsd with the tubes enabled? I have a SE200 and it will barely get 6-8 hours out of the AKM side.
So if it could last for an entire shift at work that would be excellent. I cant see myself buying anything that lasts any shorter than this.
is this suppose to be a joke or? the device is not even launched officially, how can someone already tested it out?

Who do you think I'm referring to when I say "you guys"? It's being showcased in 7 days so they obviously have a prototype ready to go, and I know vendors on here are generally pretty personable.
Also, I dont think anyone releases battery tests using dsd or even flac at a reasonable volume. So a legit battery test would be pretty important for me especially considering the larger than normal load with the tubes.
The Cayin N30LE comes with a 13200mah battery iirc, which gives it decent life. That's a lot to ask for, and I'm not sure it will be matched by something less limited.

This is gonna be another bad harsh sounding dap like 2000t,these models will never sound good like a flagship unit , they are tuning them to be inferior sounding and I had the sp2000t. I preferred the sa700. Now I have sp3000 and I am happy.

The SP2000T used a different DAC than the SP2000 due to the AKM factory fire and no AKM chips being available.

What's the dimension? Is this as big as SP3000?

This device will only being on sale at May 2024, doubt vendors would get this devices that early... and also not sure how does knowing battery life that early (before it even officially launch) will help you in real life...

Mate, you should chill out, really 😂

Vendors usually share some info prior to launch including expected battery life - maybe one is thinking if he should wait for SP3KT or would go another option without waiting or whatever.

Different DAC, different tubes, more experience of building the Tri-amp functionality, and yet you already know it’s going to be a “bad harsh sounding dap”. You’re amazing!

I am actually quite chilled, but just cannot understand why some people would like want to know such specific spec before it even officially launched... and this device only on sale May 2024 for sure there will be some minor changes before this date, so this kind of battery test is meaningless...

Making such a fuss for a simple question someone asked is the opposite of chill. So yea please chill and let people discuss and ask whatever they like. You don’t have to answer everyone.

We'll release more info on battery life in the next few weeks. Working on finalizing firmware ahead of CanJam NYC, which includes UI optimizations that would affect battery life positively. Just received another firmware update late last night.

And I will say this:
Let's calmly and casually wait for the premiere and the final and official specification of SP3000T.
We remember the confusion Kann Ultra had with the BT 4.2 version,
and even the box and instructions have such a description - to finally clarify at the premiere that it will be BT 5.3

There is not that much portable equipment that uses lamps.
This is a very difficult implementation due to the lamps'
susceptibility to shocks, higher temperature in a closed housing and,
most importantly, optimal power supply of the lamps from the battery.

Most of them are dominated by the familiar lamp
- KORG Nutube 6P1 - a modern triode
- RAYTHEON JAN6418 MIL-SPEC Vintage - to be equipped with SP3000T - is Vintage NOS - pentode

I respect A&K for looking for new paths, but I appreciate this company for not following the beaten path.
