I just got the email from Beyerdynamic and ordered the DT770 Pro X which will ship April 16th. I'll post a review after spending a few hours putting them through their paces. I've always got a high end stack, but also an Apple 3.5mm USB adapter to compare, since I don't think these are going to have very demanding power requirements. I've had every Beyerdynamic model including the hard to find ones like 660/860 so we'll see how they compare to the DT700/900. All the resellers are just taking preorders as well, so may as well order from the factory for $199.

Curious what you think about them compared to the DT 700/900 Pro X. Of the Beyers I've owned the DT 831, DT 440 (late production, black grill, and DT 660/860 headband), and DT 480 (owned an 8 Ohm, 25 Ohm, and 200 Ohm) are probably the more uncommon Beyers I've owned. Currently in terms of Beyers; I have a T1 Gen 3, DT 700 Pro X, and a modified DT 480 - 25 Ohm.

Mine just arrived... the cups look quite similar to the normal DT770, the headband should fit the other models as well.
Feels about the same on the head, maybe a bit less clamping force. Still very lightweight.
Sound reminds me of my old DT770/80, nice bass that reaches deep (from memory I'd say its cleaner and reaches deeper than the DT770/80) and is strong but not overbearing, voices sound articulate, treble is softer than I remember from the DT770/80 but well extended.

Got mine in as well and can only echo @plakat
I'm letting it play for a while but the highs are a bit too sharp for me. Planning on testing the amiron wireless/tygr fleece to dampen the highs if they remain as they are.
From the 10 minutes I have thus far I prefer the DT 700 pro x so far.
