Cayin also makes tube dacs that I haven't heard much about but am super curious to try. Also did you say you are chaining the may into 3 different tube amps?? 0__oI'm running a Holo May Lvl 3 into the Cayin (WE's are still burning it) and it is revelatory. The 300b sound is so thick, but the amp and the dac combo make it fast and tight within that massive, wet stage. As I listen to it, the analogy that popped into my mind was graceful, elegant synchronized swimming done in smooth olive oil. That combination of smoothness, of weight and impact, and delicate detail placed everywhere is amazing. I've got the May running into a Stratus, a Glenn OTL and the Cayin and I can't wish for any more.
That said, for some fun, I'm looking for a tube dac, like an Abbas or a Sonic Frontiers, to see how that compares to the May as a counterpoint.

Yes, but actually 4 amps (the 4th is a Stax 007t). I have one splitter on the RCA out, and then the XLR outs go into a Jensen transformer box and I have a splitter coming out of the RCA outs on that.Cayin also makes tube dacs that I haven't heard much about but am super curious to try. I have a Singxer DDC and that's how I'll incorporate a 2nd DAC.
Prior to the May, I had an Yggy and it was/is wonderful, just not quite to the level of the May - but I did appreciate that it had 2 sets of RCA outs.

Not really, there are other dacs used and an amazing dongle to use is the DC-Elite that uses a ROHM desktop dac chip.In summit fi level (well above $5K price tag), DAC plays really big role in sound. Yes, the differences are that much.
At the same time I think it's a bit hard to differentiate DAC's sound when it comes to chi-fi war DAC below $1000 that all of them just use either Sabre/AKM chip.

Using the E1148 for a few days along with the WE 300B and the Japanese grey plate 22DE4 rectifiers.
Using the SR3 iBasso or the Sony R-10, which I am using right now, the music is spot on. Extremely real sounding and better than a lot of live music I have heard recently.
Also using the iBasso D16 1bit dac and a good DAP as the source into the dac.
Very quiet, no tube noise, extremely good acoustics with hall retrieval wall bounce, adding to the overall presentation.
All good stuff. Oh, and the 7193 Hytron, IMO, need a good 200 hours or so on them to come into their own.

Would that be the E1148 Hytron? I need to get some of those. How would you compare them to the 6C8C?Using the 7193 for a few days along with the WE 300B and the Japanese grey plate 22DE4 rectifiers.

I noticed since I got the Cayin MK II, that everytime I recline my electric chair the music in my headphones pauses. It's kind of funny, press the button on chair, music stops. Release button and music continues . The amp is plugged into the same power strip as the chair. Anyways I just got a $35 Furman power conditioner that resolve it. Now I can recline freely :'D.

Reached out to Alex Sound Technology. They are going to send me an invoice for a pair of Takatsuki 300Bs.
Hopefully I will get that invoice today and I can pull the trigger on them.
