iFi Audio Asks... What (Product) Should We Make Next?

I only meant DAP one in terms of mentions, I have passed on the results to those in Higher Places for their digestion.

Perhaps I should start one asking about DAPS vs. separate DAC/AMP combo, I'll explain...

I love the idea of a DAP, but I honestly think separate units are the way to go, I personally have an Android phone only for this purpose, it houses no SIM card Wifi only, and I like to be able to just add different pieces of gear to it, for different times and tastes, lol

Thanks for speaking up!

Cheers!!
My personal opinion and preference - a portable DAP (one that fits in a pocket) can be carried every day to work and so on. It's much more convenient than having a dongle, an USB cable, a headphone cable etc. hanging from a phone. I find it much more convenient to just leave my DAP playing in the pocket while I still use my phone freely in the train :)
Of course same applies when I'm at home.

CDs are in general outdated, I don't know why companies started pushing CD transports. CDs can be ripped and then you can use a DAP or a computer to play them without the inconvenience of having to handle the physical media.
I agree they may be a bit outdated however there are some advantages to CDs that most folks who have them really enjoy. I personally really like the sound of CD and buying a CD Transport years ago let me know that I wasn't on the wrong track. Call it personal preference but I think a good CD played in a Good transport sounds better than any streaming, and I mostly listen to streaming (convenience) but if I want quality I will always put in a CD.

On Top of that no one can take the original mix you love away from you and "repost" some half-hearted "remaster" LOL
Some of us enjoy handling the physical media and reading the booklets’ contents. Good vibes
This is very true I always used to read the album, or CD booklets that came with it. Probably why I like Roon now, lol

Cheers!!

I completely agree with that, unfortunately for me, I have not found the DAP I'm looking for, somewhere somehow something always falls just a bit short.

Maybe I should tell the folks in the high offices what we all really want in a DAP! :beerchug:

Cheers!!

I'm quite sure it's the same for everyone who owns or ever owned a DAP. We always look for the next best one eh and perhaps IFI can deliver that ! :D

Btw no matter how many DAPs or dongles I own, most of the time while commuting I still use my good old IFI Go Blu. Nothing beats that for great sound and being so portable, free of one cable at least and fits anywhere easily.

Enough power to run the HE6SE.

Rugged enough to be dropped from a 2nd story window.

Small enough to fit in a pocket.

Upgrade support and a smooth non laggy UI.

A knob that doesn't protrude. Doesn't matter if it doesn't do anything.

Full HD OLED Screen with Gorilla Glass

I'm sure I'm missing some stuff.

You know, Honestly, I am becoming the same way.

I was never a Bluetooth fan, something always just felt off for me (Analog boy I guess)

But The iFi GO Pods changed 95% of that for me, I completely enjoy the fact that I can open the case, not fiddle with an app, and get great sound in a very simple way.

It would be cool if somehow we could come up with the Ultimo Dap, lol

Cheers!!

I would instantly buy a "Go Pod" from IFI if it was a cable with the bluetooth chip and battery attached to the cable much like a Xelento remote or a Shure RMCE, but with a 2-pin option (or even better interchangeable like on the Go Pod). I have smaller ears and I'm afraid the Go Pod might make my ears look silly in the crowd.

Understandable!

Perhaps future generations could be more like a Miracle ear type thing or just "Bud" type unit itself.

Cheers!!

FWIW I like the iFi approach to noise reduction in my home theater. Network components like modems, switches, routers, USB, wifi, ethernet, etc., are NOT designed for audiophiles. Your simple Power and Enhancer products give me an affordable and easy to implement solution to bring my network/streaming components in line with my hifi/audio components. Hopefully an HDMI Enhancer will be available in the future.

Thanks for that, we appreciate it! We think we try and do a great job with all of our "Silent Power" products and are glad that we can improve on anyone's experience.

Thanks!
