Well the Neo says PCM and MQA when it is. A bit of a mine field this. The Neo is the best sounding streamer I have heard, I am quite forgiving of its problems, but I think we are now a bit overdue an update.
I completely agree, and they are working on the update as we speak.

It is important to remember that not all manufacturers have gotten the "Tidal Max" update even as a Roon user I can't avoid MQA (admittedly it doesn't bother me as much as others) but that does not mean it shouldn't be updated, but try and remember this is a bit on Tidal as well.

That's not an excuse it just a fact, if Tidal wasn't sending files with MQA signaling the NEO or Zen would have no issue playing the FLAC file.

We working hard, promise!

Cheers!!

The confusing thing for me is that the Neo reports PCM 44khz on the newly released FLAC files, the connect software switches from Max to high when connection to the Neo is achieved. So it must be playing FLAC just not at the Max bit rate. When playing MQA it displays MQA on the Neo not PCM.

Give me the specifics on the file, and I will look in Roon and see what versions both Tidal and Qobuz are offering, the only way I can tell as Tidal doesn't list it.

Artist Album

As you see here only Qobuz appears to have the high rez version.

Interesting. Tidal aren’t providing 24 bit FLAC how strange. Thanks anyway. I’m only on a trial with Tidal and also have Qobuz. Looking forward to Qobuz Connect

I think you (and I) speak for all Qobuz subscribers in saying we are looking forward to it!

Anyone come across a strange bug with the GTO filter. If I set this it works fine, however if I turn the Neo off and then back on and start the music using uPnP and mconnect, the track starts but there is no sound until you select the filter on the Neo and move to the next one. I have submitted a ticket but wondered if this is a known issue. On latest Firmware version.

I don't remember that specific issue being mentioned, but I am glad you submitted a ticket as it may be related to the Last settings not holding that folks have had.

Do let us know what you find out if you have time.

The problem is they want me to reset using the windows exes provided, but the one app won’t get past my work pc defences. I don’t own a Win PC only an old Mac plus iOS devices.
Ah yes, that is an issue.

Sometimes that is the best path, I remember a few years ago I had to borrow a Windows laptop because I am a Mac user myself.

Did they give an option to send it in? The best bet would be just to borrow a friend's (if possible) it only takes about 5-6 minutes to do and then just uninstall the programs.

Cheers!!
