comon ifi...it's almost end of jan. at least provide a timeline on the tidal firmware update.
speaking to other manufacturers, it wasn't a complicated item to implement

I can't speak for our firmware folks, all I can do is ask when, and I have, as I have posted it is due to be fixed.

I will ask some other folks in the tech department, but I won't report anything here that was not told to me to be 100% fact.

I am looking forward to this as well, and I do wish I had a more concrete answer for you, but in all honesty, I do not.

You have my apologies for that.

Cheers!!

Yes, it is. The update shouldn’t take too long, I guess
I have never been an EA for Roon, So I am not sure what the timeframe is once it goes there, but I could guess a few weeks.

Thanks for the clarification.

Cheers!!

Ahhh,

I see now, I have not looked at the EA thingy for a long time, years probably, lol

I had no idea it was just open download now, I installed it on my Rock, very easily, and indeed stuff is playing in FLAC PCM on my NEO Stream.

So good to know it does work and now we at iFi must get ours so non-Roon users can benefit.

Cheers!!

In my case it happens to me with tidal connect and with Roon.I use ethernet, no wifi
I believe that most people use the Ifi Neo Stream with an external DAC.
And those two conditions have to be met, using the analog output (that is, the Neo Stream's DAC) and having the GTO filter selected. It would be nice if another colleague could try it.
Ifi Audio asked me to send the unit in to check the issue out. I’ll let you know how that goes.

I have the same problem that explain chriswelsby. When i use the analog output, and the GTO filter is selected, there is no sound if i play a song. But if i select another filter turning the volumen, then the song start sounding.
I am using the 2.15.17 firmware versión, and i have to probe 2.16 that is the last one.

Wow I am not alone. You describe the fault perfectly. Sadly updating the firmware will not fix it as I did that and no change. I did observe that this happens with uPnP and mconnect and Tidal connect but NOT Airplay with Qobuz. Might be worth opening a ticket so they know I’m not the only one.
After some playing around I found that if you are using the NEO as a "standalone" meaning you are using it with the internal DAC and Analog outputs.

A temporary workaround is to make sure before you turn the unit off, put the unit in another filter mode like "Standard" Then when you turn the unit back on the sound should function right away, and you can then select GTO filter for listening. I have tested this as I mostly use mine in this way, and it does work without fuss.

Now this is only for folks having the issue with NO Sound when using the unit by itself.

Try it out and see if this helps until we get a firmware update to address the issue you folks reported.

Cheers!!

Just to confirm, are you also experiencing the no sound bug with GTO? Thanks.

Yes, I did not realize it, but after speaking with a friend in support I tried to duplicate the issue and help out. Apparently, this only occurs when using the GTO filter and the others do not have this effect. So I relayed to him that this only occurs with GTO and I had not had the issue with it as I was always in Bit Perfect.

I actually thought at first it was related to the "Last Settings" issue some have had.

One of you guys I believe is working with support on this, so I thought I would pass along the info I found that if Powered off under GTO filter state, when powered back on you must select another filter as described to get it flowing.

This is why I posted that if you are a GTO listener simply turn it off before powering down and this won't happen.

Best I could do until we get a fix for it.

Cheers!!

Same problem here . But the change of filter fix fast the problem. Let’s say the nice thing. Dsd local usb play is wonderful and the filters ar changing the sound a lot in this mode. Superb job for dsd. A pair of capacitors from ifi signature one and will be probably the best BB dac
