Getting a chance to check out the NEO iDSD2 and have it stacked with the NEO Stream, so I thought I would share a pic!

I just asked the folks in that department just a few hours ago if there was any updated timeline for both units. I will post back here if there is anything of interest.

It is of an interest that update for tidal flac. But ifi just want to lose clients.
No, not at all, we would prefer to please all of our customers, however, Tidal was taking their time rolling out updates to third-party folks. That is something that is out of our control, that being said we regret the inconvenience.

Even Roon itself has just recently received its Tidal Max update, and hopefully, we are not far behind on the list to receive it.

I found Tidal kept switching from Max to High on connection, although the MQA still worked at Max. Anyhoo Qobuz works alright in Mconnect apart from killing my battery. Love an update that fixed GTO because that is the sweet spot with my system. I guess we could be looking at July like the last one.

thanks. i think i'll give it another month but if there's no updates, i'll be switching out of this unit. It's great that we get a response through head-fi but it is unacceptable for the lack of support or clear timeline on the firmware side for the past 8+ months regarding: 1) MQA passthrough 2) tidal max update

My apologies again, as a NEO and Zen owner myself I wish I had better answers. I know I am repeating myself here but it is extremely important that these things get reported to the support folks as well.

Part of my job here is to answer anything I can and ask about anything I cannot.

Now imagine tomorrow support gets 20 requests to update the unit with Tidal max and the MQA issue, in fact, any other issues, vs. me saying we have quite a few unhappy folks regarding the lack of NEO updates, one is more effective than the other I can assure you.

I wish I had a better answer, and I am pushing the issue forward.

Getting a chance to try out the iFi Neo Stream. I always wanted to try a Roon streamer with a display (albeit a small one in this case), and it was fairly easy to setup and get going with a couple minutes.

any updates on firmware update?

I guess it's time to move on from this company. It's a good product but the lack of firmware updates with no definitive timelines isn't the customer experience I expected from this company, especially when the competition has updated their firmware to better support tidal in a timely manner.

I can completely understand your frustration as it is valid.

I wish we had the Tidal update sooner, but unfortunately, we don't at the moment. I would like to take a moment to express our gratitude for your support of our products and to also apologize for this delay. Please understand as we would like to do better on this front, this one is not completely on us and has quite a bit to do with Tidal more than individual companies, I am sure there are other folks that feel the same as you with other companies besides iFi, as there are many that also do not have this update.

Wish I had some more concrete news for you! I encourage folks to express their discontent to Tidal as well as our support line when it comes to this issue.

It's not only the recent tidal max issue, I reported the MQA passthrough issue over a year ago and it can't be that difficult to fix given the zen stream didnt have that problem

I've given up on the Neo Stream - it is packed up and will be heading to my son's place to see if he can get it to work consistently as I can't sell it in good conscience. After a decent recent period of recent trouble free use (apart from the frustrating Airplay connection issues after the last firmware update), it is now restarting itself after 1 or 2 tracks - the same problem I had with the original unit that was eventually replaced.

The reason I bought the NS in the first place was for the additional connection options and the NAA capability versus my original Auralic Aries, which is now nearly 10 years old. It has been a frustrating 17 months of ownership and I have persevered with the patience of a saint but I've had enough and I'm tired of waiting for a firmware update in the hope that it would lead to some sort of stability.

Thank goodness I never sold the Aries, it is now back in my 2 channel living room setup and working perfectly, including instant connection to Airplay........and the Lightning DS playback software is miles ahead of the Volumio base software in the NS.
