Same problem here . But the change of filter fix fast the problem. Let’s say the nice thing. Dsd local usb play is wonderful and the filters ar changing the sound a lot in this mode. Superb job for dsd. A pair of capacitors from ifi signature one and will be probably the best BB dac
Yes, Thanks!

For clarity, those using a USB and an External DAC will not see this issue, I have tested that as well.

This is why I try to encourage everyone to let support know of any bugs or glitches, the more reports the more we know, as it is very hard to test every DAC or scenario.

Cheers!!

Yes, I did not realize it, but after speaking with a friend in support I tried to duplicate the issue and help out. Apparently, this only occurs when using the GTO filter and the others do not have this effect. So I relayed to him that this only occurs with GTO and I had not had the issue with it as I was always in Bit Perfect.

I actually thought at first it was related to the "Last Settings" issue some have had.

One of you guys I believe is working with support on this, so I thought I would pass along the info I found that if Powered off under GTO filter state, when powered back on you must select another filter as described to get it flowing.

This is why I posted that if you are a GTO listener simply turn it off before powering down and this won't happen.

Best I could do until we get a fix for it.

Cheers!!
I am the guy who sent his machine back when requested and appreciate the investigation. I did think it unlikely that this was hardware, but nobody else reported it and therefore assumed I must have a fault specific to me and there is a finite warranty period. I think Ifi must appreciate they need to up the game when it comes to testing. The sound is there but this type of obvious bug is not so great. Cheers Chris

I agree, but in all reality, you did the right thing, this particular issue was not reported in the way that you described it. There have been bugs identified in the past and posted here that only affected a minority of users and, therefore go mostly unnoticed especially when Support is not contacted, and it is only posted here.

I did not realize that this issue you brought up was as specific as it is, but more along the lines of the general "last settings" fix that is being worked on.

Had you not done what you did, we may have thought about the issue differently. I have been on this issue with some units for quite a while, and appreciate what you brought forward.

Sorry again for the inconvenience!

Cheers!!

No worries you provide a useful service on this site and It’s been a useful find. Personally I’m not a fan of the ESS sabre dac and the market seems to be saturated with this option, so I think Ifi can offer something better and different.

After some playing around I found that if you are using the NEO as a "standalone" meaning you are using it with the internal DAC and Analog outputs.

A temporary workaround is to make sure before you turn the unit off, put the unit in another filter mode like "Standard" Then when you turn the unit back on the sound should function right away, and you can then select GTO filter for listening. I have tested this as I mostly use mine in this way, and it does work without fuss.

Now this is only for folks having the issue with NO Sound when using the unit by itself.

Try it out and see if this helps until we get a firmware update to address the issue you folks reported.

Cheers!!
Okay, I will use this temporary solution, I will change the filter before turning off and when turning on again I will select the GTO filter.

Thank you

NEO Stream and Roon users...

The official update for Roon "Tidal Max" was released today, so your NEOs should be showing Non-MQA Material when playing through the Roon app.

There may be still some MQA content yet to be replaced.

Hopefully, our update for Non-Roon users will be not too far away!

Cheers!!

Hello ! Today I have a problem with iFi Neo Stream. After changing the power supply from iFi Power Elite 12V/4A to Teddy Pardo 9V/2A, Neo Stream did not boot properly. It turned on, the "iFi" logo appeared, the white indicator lighted up first, then the red one, then the white one started to burn all the time (as in normal operation). But nothing happens further . The "Reset" button on the back panel does not reset and does not react at all. No buttons respond. In the home network, you can see that Neo Stream appears as during normal operation. The connected Denafrips DAC shows that it is ready to receive PCM and DSD signal via USB. But the iFi-Stream application on the iPhone and the web-browser on the Mac-mini cannot connect to Neo Stream. Could you please tell me how I can reset the device ? Are there any ways other than the "Reset" button because it doesn't work?

I would also like to note that I have switched between these power supplies before, and everything worked perfectly. I also wrote a letter to https://support.ifi-audio.com . I would be very happy if someone knows how to get Neo Stream out of this state.

If you are able to see the Stream Ifi app, or access the menu by using a browser and ifi.local there is a factory reset in the settings/system menu by where you check for Firmware Updates.

If you can't get there it is best to open a ticket thru this link...

https://support.ifi-audio.com/

Hope this helps you out.

Cheers!!

The problem is that I can't either go to the menu or make a reset with a button on the back panel. The ticket has already been opened )
I apologize for the misunderstanding, I thought you wrote you sent an email, to me that is different than opening a ticket. You should have already got an automated response with your ticket number (if you didn't please check your Spam folder and then whitelist the source)

The reset button needs to be held for exactly two seconds, any more and it may cause issues, any less, and the reset may not work.

After doing the reset are you saying that the Stream-iFi app doesn't even prompt you to do the setup via the "Hotspot method?

Does this not occur? If it does doing it that way may be an option to get you going.

Cheers!!

I held down the Reset button and for more than 3 seconds (as it is written in the manual ), and 20 seconds and even a minute ). All without results, the reset does not take place. Continues to show the "iFi" logo on the display, the indicator is white. I tried to make the initial setting in Stream-iFi, through the Hotspot, but the device does not respond to secutive actions, and the iFi logo and white indicator continue to light up, nothing happens.

You might try leaving it unplugged for a few minutes, maybe 5-10

Then retry setup, if this is not successful your best bet is support response to your ticket.

Cheers!!
