If that’s the real reating for minimum power requirement 9v2A, i can let you know a small tweak. You can use a caps 1000uf or 500uf at 12v solder right at the output power source cable. You will receive a little bigger soundstage. This will make you lose the warranty so be sure that expires on the liniar power source.
Way i’m saying this tweak because you probably running you liniar power supply at the maximum capacity voltage and amperage

If you want to use as a stremer dac, the best power source will offer the best sound. A side upgrade will be a very small increase on the sound. Ifi elit and ifi powerx is close in sound, when i go to farad it upgrade my 2000hz to 10hz.
But as a upgrade dac will be cheaper to test a E70 V with a decent spdif digital cable ( mogami canare ). The upgrade will be more than a power source.
If the dac is above 2000€ and you have all the rig done with liniar power supply then i recomand to go to liniar power supply

if you want to upgrade the power supply, which one should you choose (there are 4 versions on the Ifi site)? Is there any difference sound wise between them?
thanks!
Hello ! If you choose from iFi products, Elite is definitely the best. I got it new for just $250. After connecting it to Neo Stream, I didn't hear the differences like day and night from the regular Power X 9V/2.5A. BUT I didn't want to go back )) Elite gives a little more volume and a little more resolution, the sound itself feels more refined. And on iFi Zen Stream (which I also have) the replacement of X with Elite feels much stronger. It's obvious that the Elite is winning a lot in everything.

Thanks for your answer. I have experience with a linear power supply to my old Zodiac dac, which improved the quality quite a lot. Maybe I can have it adjusted for the Neo Stream.
Also within the Elite there are even 4 choices from 5V/5A to 24V/2,5A. Is there an optimum say 12V/4A for the Neo Stream!?
thanks!
@stoicar: I didn’t know the Farad brand, it is even produced in my country!

If I ever give advice on Power Supplies I always say...

If you can directly compare 2 each for two weeks, you will be in a far better position to judge the benefits of either one for your ears. Many times in iPower X vs. Elite I have seen it go both ways depending on the person listening.

If at all possible buy both from a reputable retailer with a "no questions asked" return policy and hear for yourself, I say this with any brand of PS not just iFi, lol

My personal preference in Voltage for the NEO is 12V but many, many folks like 15v. I also take into consideration (because the NEO can handle 9-15) that if I ever wanted to use the PS with other equipment I have what is "my" most common voltage, that way you might have more uses for it.

Hope this helps...

Cheers!!

Hello guys,

is it possible to play DSD files on iFi NS connected with LAN cable on router + Android mconnect Player app + NAS with DSD files?
Simply with just ethernet connection and without computer/laptop with additional software players/storage.

Looking info before buying :) Thanks!

Yes, it is.

I cannot remember honestly if I used Mconnect for this others may answer on this.

You can play files directly to the NEO Stream using our own Stream-iFi app as well.

Good day to all ! I hasten to share my joy - Neo Stream is fully functional again! Thanks to the man named Liam from https://support.ifi-audio.com/ . ! At first, it took a long time to start the AndroidTool.exe program. But then it turned out that all the files from the recovery archive need to be transferred to the root of the C drive (working on Windows PC). This turned out to be a critical condition and without it AndroidTool.exe did not start (tried on several computers). I'm writing in detail because they don't write about it anywhere, and for beginners it will prove to be a problem

SO glad Liam was able to assist.

The Tools and files you were sent are a "mainly" support-only thing, which is why it's best to get with them for these solutions. I know of the Tool and have used it, but we don't post it anywhere for general use, just as we don't encourage "beta" versions being loaded, only Current firmware.

Hope you understand, and sorry for any inconvenience.

Cheers!!
