Having to run a separate proxy to be able to use Roon is a workaround and not a solution

A workaround is still better for many people than no workaround at all

What a wasted opportunity to really bring the Pro iDSD Sig into 2021 and beyond, by incorporating the Zen Stream tech inside.

Pro iDSD Signature's inside isn't roomy enough for ZEN Stream. Combining them would result in a different product to begin with; noticeably bigger and more expensive. Perhaps at some point in the future we'll make something like that, who knows

I like the way it looks and it will fit nicely on my desk or in my silver stack of PS Audio components. But at the end of the day it's all about how it sounds with my headphones. I can't judge that 'cause it's backordered or not in stock at the usual online sellers. But it looks like iFi has made a very good headphone amp (don't need the DAC) and I'll most likely buy it when it's available.

I should have mine on wed and will let u know how it goes here.
I am planning on using an existing Pro DSD init with it.

I tried to order the prior now older unit but was caught in the upgrade announce cycle.

Both amps are superlative I am sure....

I used the 4.4mm balanced out on the Pro DSD and its pretty good all by itself.

With the newer one I am set for any headphone except for electrostatic and iFi has a solution there as well!

I’m afraid the gold is a deal breaker for me as well. I’ll stick with my Zen stream Zen/stack in hopes that you folks at iFi will produce an industry flagship device that does it all while emphasizing classic designs that don’t tilt windmills at “trends”.

I am glad that you finally opened up your line of sight to audiophiles who enjoy a robust bass response—that at least puts you ahead of the rarified ears of your competitors. I just sold my FiiO M15, because in secret (don’t tell anyone), I actually listen to some music other than quad DSD, microlabel recordings of sweaty-browed cellists reaching passionately beneath their knees on their fretboards (such as *gasp* rock!)…

Here’s a thought. Until Apple offer choices for the AirPods Pro in additional colours say for example to match their iphone pro line they will never have a customer in me. Imagine how great it would be as a customer if you could buy AirPods Pro to match the colour of your brand new space grey iPhone 13pro
Now imagine as a customer being able to choose between silver or black for your brand new iFi Pro DSD SIgnature so it fits perfectly in line with the rest of your desktop gear

Its amazing to me....its always been about accurate reproduction of music....recorded vs live....music that makes you feel like your there....

Dont get me wrong I like certain looks, trim, colors...but its the music first. Period.

You can have a solid gold brick sitting in front of you, but it doesnt do squat for me in the reproduction of music.

IMO way too much of I want purple, blue or silver or gold etc....silly to me.

The iFi Pro iCan and Pro DSD do not stand in the way of accurate reproduction of music for sure.

Enjoy the music while you can!

Yup for sure...totally agree but still silly IMO....but when your spending your dollars.....for sure...many great choices out here....

why doesn't ifi just make the products signature from the beginning..... by releasing the non signature versions first and then re-designing them and putting a signature on them just says the original design lacked good parts/engineering.... won't be long and they will release the audio Pro iDSD Black.... with better parts and it comes in the color Black.... only $5000 .... I'm just hoping they get away from the fake balanced circuits....

Honestly its iFis decision on how to develop and market their stuff and price it.
The high "end" is not inexpensive for sure.
But no-one is breaking your arm to buy it.

I honestly dont think you will actually be able to hear tons of differences in the old Pro stuff and the newer signature...IMO.

If the public buys it well they will keep making and selling stuff...if the public stops buying it then maybe.....a change.
But doubt this.

Most all of the vendors are sold out on the new Pro Signature stuff already...

Seems a lot of folks really like this stuff.

Again there are other choices out there, tons of them.

BTW: even though it doesn't sound like I like ifi products... I do like them... I just don't like the price gouging I'm seeing from all of the manufacturers... for the prices they really need to step up the game....

For sure there are many high end "TOTL" headphones and gear that are up in price, but there are a ton more that are more affordable as well.

Over the years I have sent ALOT of $$$ on this stuff...listening now to a $99 amp and a $3500 amp...both are really great. Why do I have both because I can and only my ears can tell me if its worth it.

After 30 + amps, dacs and headphones I have honed in on what makes me happy....some are relatively cheap others are costly.

Its great to have choices and iFi is one of the many.
