So you mean the internal volume control is the a hardware-based volume control? Does that mean to be bit-perfect I have to always set windows volume at 100% and control the dongle's volume by pressing the middle button?
If you want to keep computer volume at 100%, then yes, you will have to control the UA3 volume through the middle button

That's not what I'm asking. I'm not just trying to control volume I want to make sure that the volume is being controlled in the hardware domain. Earlier you replied that there is no way for the computer to control hardware volume, so does that mean if I max out the internal volume control on the UA3 and control volume via the computer or the phone, I am still using software volume control?

I don't know if this says anything definitive, but I specifically have the software volume setting turned off in Audrivana, and it still changes the volume for the UA3 via Kernel streaming mode.

Correct.
According to the info from our engineers, the hardware volume on UA3 affects directly the volume output of DACs, it is not affected by the software volume controls.

Hi there, not sure if this is the right place to ask. I tried to upgrade my ua3 to 1.07 firmware and the procedure worked, but after that my ua3 is not recognised anymore. When connected (using usb audio player pro), my Android phone asks me if I want to connect to Comtrue-inc firmware update device, I say yes, but the no sound come off my earphones. When connected to the pc, the device is not recognised at all. I tried to upgrade to 1.09 firmware, but when asked to connectbthe device, nothing happens, no blinking light on the dongle.
Is there anyway to reset the device?

Thank you for your reply. Your suggestion completely fixed my problem. It is good to know that there is good customer support from your brand, makes me confident if I want to buy other stuff in the future.

Hi! Using ua3 for three days and totally love it.
But there's one issue while I plug it with Shanling m0: sometimes they don't see each other or there's a very quiet sound and you can only make it even more quiet. I've been trying usb1.0 mode and all m0's settings. Maybe @Shanling could test this combination?

If I was to set a filter on the Eddict Player app would it save to the device so I can use it on the PC (windows) or is it purely android side?
From what I understand, once it's set through Eddict app, it should stay set until you change the setting again. That's been my experience with regard to the button settings and others.

Just got it today, sounds just as good to me as my W4 dongle, I like the way volume is handled here, so far I only use built in hardware volume, so having to press a middle button to temporally activate hardware volume makes it sure that it won't be changed accidentally and I changed volume buttons to next/ previous function for music, but disabled that function in my phone, so unless I press middle button to activate hardware volume it won't do anything else, that's awesome for me.
And it sounds just great :raised_hand: I've listened through it today to Drake's Lover Boy album, bass is great, all the details are there, to achieve the same volume as on W4 I used 14 steps (that's hardware volume), while on W4 it's 30 steps, though I'm aware that W4 volume change is most likely none linear, regardless, I will be using it now as my primary dongle. On top of it all price is just outstanding.
