Introducing SHANLING H7

With H7 we are taking a big step into the High-End Portable DAC/AMP market.

And we made sure it comes packing all the important features:

- New Flagship AK4499EX DAC chip from AKM, with its matching AK4191 Modulator

- Extra powerful amplifier offering up to 1.2W @ 32 Ohm

- 3.5 / 4.4 / 6.35mm headphone outputs and rear RCA

- Xmos USB input supporting Hi-Res playback, including MQA

- Combined input for Coaxial and Optical SPDIF

- Bluetooth receiver module with LDAC support

And an extra feature is the MicroSD card slot, allowing for direct local playback. Pack your card with all the music files and then simply control it from the Eddict Player app on your Android or iOS phone. You can even run the H7 as a completely independent player, just with limited control.

The local micro SD card read function could be a game changer.

It could reduce production costs and save the place for a more advanced internals. Just a small display to show your files and you are independent from your phone when playing locally.
No android, no big screen, all in with amp section. Brilliant!
But for the streaming, we need to connect it to our phones?

What's the approximate size?

About the same size as M8.

There is a small display. Not finally set on the EQ.

It has no internet connectivity, so for streaming apps it needs to be connected to some source.

So for local files playback i could also use the app on my phone to controll the H7 via bluethooth right?
If thats the case im sold! Its like the IFI Gryphon but with its own Micro SD card reader so no lossy playback when controlled via Bluetooth.

Only pity there is no DC power supply possibility, like the Fiio M17 has. It could be used as a typical desktop DAC AMP without battery drain.
But it looks very interesting anyways.

Looks interesting. Any further information of the amp section and power output?

Can you use other apps to control the MicroSD card slot, like the Chord Poly/Mojo combo?

I think you can control the playback from your smartphone. There will be the app for Andro/OS.
So it stays in your pocket and no need to pull it out everytime you want to change a song.
Also it will probably have some basic UI when you want to control the playback from the device directly, so no need for a smartphone when playing local files.

Might have to return the BTR7 that I bought yesterday! I was looking for a portable dac/amp with its own sdcard, good timing!!

@Shanling do you reckon this would come out before Oct end?
This Fall, so probably Oct-Nov. You can return the BTR, this will probably be the best in its class right now:)
Knowing Shanlings AKMs implementations and saving a lot of space for the amp section means, it could reach a TOTL dap sq level for lower price point.
It will have the flagship 4499EX. But probably only one (or two of them?) plus AK4191 for digital signal processing (like on the sp3000).
No big screen, no android, no power hungry Snapdragons. All about the audio.

I was thinking in DLNA or MPD client like BubbleUPnP.

This really is interesting. I own the Mojo2/Poly combo and it sounds amazing through the MicroSD card, probably even better than the USB DAC.

The H7 has the new AKM DAC, very tempting. I just really want to know the power output at 300Ohms and 600Ohms. I have some earbuds that need a lot of power to sound at best.
