What phone is that? It's highly strange that all other apps would be working and just Apple Music Hi-Res would stop, sounds more like software issue on the side of Apple Music.

Have you tested it with any other DACs? Have you reached to Apple for support on their software?
Now everything is fine after latest os update from xiaomi. All hi res music from streaming platforms is working fine through usb now.I think it was a usb bandwidth issue.

I just got my Shanling H7 yesterday and one of the reasons that I chose the H7 was because I saw that it had playback control (ie: turn left wheel to jump back/next, press volume wheel play/pause). However, it doesn't seem to work for USB-C input. It works on bluetooth. Is this by design? If so, I'm a bit surprised because many cheaper Shanling products have playback control that work with USB input? Or am I using it wrong? Do I need to update firmware for this to work?

This is correct, playback control doesn't work over USB input.

Some of our UA models offer USB playback control, because they have different USB chipset.

Hi I am looking for a portable dac/amp solutiom to drive them well. At the moment I am using an ibasso dx300 with amp12 but want to changw to a smaller more portable dap and need then an dac amp for the hifiman he1000 stealth. What would you recommend in the 500 to 1000 Euro class. My favourite is shanling h7. Is this a gooe choice or something else? Cheerw Jonathan

Shanling H7 isn't portative, just portable. I haven't he1000, but his sensitivity is too low. I think he1000 needs more powerful amping, better if it will be desktop amp.

Ok thanks yeah i read that a Desktop amp.is best. I own ferrum erco for this but i want to know if there are portable dac/amp solutions to carry them around the house not to be fixed at the Desktop place. Maybe i need to ask in the other thread but i wamted to try out the h7 with the New akm dac. Will think about it.

Hi,

The H7 is indeed just "portable". You can have a SD card fitted into it and with the batteries, you can indeed carry it around. But it is not a DAP... Besides you will have to remote control it with the Eddict Software which means : no EQ, lack of basic features and questionnable stability.

But the sound is fabuulous... and should drive the HE1000 Stealth without any major problems, unless you really want to listen to music at indecent volume levels.

Regards.

I own both the HE1000 Stealth and the H7 and I can tell you (from my personal experience) that the HE1000 Stealth was created to play with a desktop amp. Sure you can listen to them with the H7 but you wouldn't be doing the headphones or it any favors. The headset that goes very well with the H7 is the excellent HER10D which costs very little and makes a lot. With just over a thousand euros (if I were you) I would get the H7, a HER10D and a Myer Audio Sliivo ML-41 and you would have the possibility to enjoy the H7 both with headphones (not too far from the HE1000 Stelth) and with a iem which goes perfectly with it. Another possibility would be to buy an ifi Diablo 2 for the same price which is much more powerful than the H7, but I can't tell you if you'd like it anyway because I've never listened to it. I would be for the first option which gives you more flexibility and would go well with the H7 which remains one of the best DACs I own (probably superior to the ifi Diablo 2).

Thank yout for your comment. I see that the stealth needs a Desktop amp to shine. Will test it tomorrow wirh my ferrum erco. HE1000 is still quite new in my collection. H7 still be on my list but I will wait for the new m5 ultra and decide it I want an all in one dap solution or the h7 for portable and desktop use. Thank you very much for clearing my questions.
Enjoy listening
Cheers Jonathan

Just got my H7 today! Listening to it through FD5s and I don’t know who mentioned it before but it’s a really good pairing. Feels like it just gently rounds off the sometimes problematic treble area and gives enough oomph to get the driver really speaking.
I’ve never heard them sound as good.
All my IEMs got more mature sounding with H7. Even FH7 got a meat on the bone.
