Shanling M1s Compact Portable Player - Now With Tidal Streaming!
Nov 15, 2023 at 4:43 AM Post #106 of 126
I want to use my DAP for the same purpose - only to stream. Can you confirm if the audio quality is better while streaming Spotify through a DAP like the M1S as compared to just normally playing it from your smartphone via wired headphones?
There is no headphone port on iPhone, so it depends what USB DAC are you using.

Another bug is that when connected to iphone via usb c cable no matter what the quality of the song it is stack on 48khx/32bits.

Very capable hardware very disappointing software and bad support. ITs been months i have reported a MAJOR issue, your product cant connect to a BT device thats the main function of this unit to be connected via BT...

Still no info on Apple TV Box.

Please which version of iPhone, what cable and what app?

Bluetooth connection is one of the additional features of M1S, which is mainly a standalone portable player. If you were looking for only a Bluetooth receiver, you should take a look at our UP5 model.

Yes, it can connect to iPhones, iPads, Macs.

I believe your only issue is with the Apple TV Bluetooth, correct?

Please what cable you used for connection? We will check on it when we are back in office in second half of February.

hello.
thank you for your quick response.
Dont get me wrong, i love this product and just want to get the best out of it.
its a very capable product but some of the problems make it useless in my case. Yes if someone uses it as a tidal streamer or dap, maybe there are no issues there.
But still its 2024, so no BT connection with probably the BEST tv box (not just a no-name product) + no bt connection with a recent flagship OLED LG TV is not acceptable.
I have used more than 10 different cables all apple usb c cables (braded and the normal one) baseus, satechi, 10 gbps etc. when connected to macbook no problem when connected to iphone/ipad no matter what quality is the song using apple music, the quality on the display is the same. not only that its on 32bit always even if its 16 or 24 bit.

It shouldnt be so difficult for your team to reproduce the unit not connected to apple tv box 4k... should be really an easy fix and it has been so many months since i reported this issue to you. hope you take it into consideration.

regards

I would like to chime in here for a bit, if you don't mind

I have previously briefly used the old m0(not the new pro one) it seemed to connect to most devices including a TV box without any issue. I don't see why the m1s can't do that.

Now I don't have the m1s neither the m0 pro do can't test it. But I guess maybe you should try resetting the Bluetooth setting or reset it and check once?

Bitrate always shows 32bit, no matter what is input. DACs are unable to check on the bit rate, so it shows just the default number.
Sampling rate should be changing, depending on what app and sound file you are using. We will check on the Apple Music output when we are back in office after holidays.

There is currently zero work done on compatibility with Apple TV box, not priority for our software team on M1s.
