Switching between speakers and headphones without having to unplug anything?
I guess I'm confused as to how the SYS preamp works as I saw two RCA line-ins and went from there. My original thought was to have my T-amp/speakers go to In 1, Asgard/headphones to In 2, and then the Out to my onboard audio. I have trouble wrapping my head around the cabling/line in/line out...- fusedpro

Switching between speakers and headphones without having to unplug anything?
Hi all, My current audio setup is a little less than ideal and I was hoping that could change with my new build. Right now, my computer has an HT Omega Striker soundcard with a T-amp for my Cambridge Audio S30 bookshelf speakers (+ BIC F12 sub) and a Schiit Asgard (original) for my Sennheiser...- fusedpro

Looking to move away from my Z5500s
Hello all, as the title states I am looking to move away from my Logitech Z5500 speaker system to a 2.0/1 bookshelf system. My source will be my computer and my main uses are for music, watching anime, and some gaming. The 5.1 system is nice for the latter two aspects (mainly the anime), but I...- fusedpro

Looking for a good AND comfortable IEM headset (NOT for iPhone)
Hello Head-Fi, I'm pretty familiar with full-sized cans, but IEMs are out of my territory, so I'm coming to you for some help. I recently started full-time on a Help Desk where I was given the following -- ...- fusedpro

HD598 vs. HD650
Schiit Asgard or Matrix M-Stage are two highly recommended amplifiers in that price bracket. I use the Asgard with my HD580 (AMAZING headphones, by the way) and they pair wonderfully.- fusedpro

Please Help a Noob
Sounds like something from the Grado or Alessandro line would be perfect for you. Look into either the SR-80i (Grado) or MS-1 (Alessandro).- fusedpro

Headphones with soundstage at $200 or less.
Sennheiser HD598 will handle the majority of music very well and it has an amazing soundstage as well. I don't own them, but they did sound pretty damn good when I auditioned them at a store. Also, I have to ask... who is that in your avatar?- fusedpro

I don't want to throw a wrench into things, but have you looked into some Sennheiser HD580s? While I haven't compared them side-by-side, many say they sound nearly identical to the HD600 (even more so when you swap the plastic grilles on the HD580 with the HD600 grilles). Best part about the...- fusedpro

Upgrading from Sennheiser HD 595
Sennheiser phones tend to pair well with most genres, so not much to worry about there. While it isn't as big of an upgrade, there is also the Sennhesier HD598 -- very lively and said to not show any characteristics of Senn's "veil". Outside that, Mal hasn't steered anyone in a bad...- fusedpro

Upgrading from Sennheiser HD 595
The HD650 will definitely be an upgrade to the HD595. The HD600 is also an excellent choice if you're looking for something slightly more analytical. This is, of course, assuming you want to stick with Sennheiser. To help others out with this thread -- what is your budget? EDIT --...- fusedpro

Sennheiser HD 598 Impressions Thread
Quote: The FiiO E9 is just over $100 new on Amazon (~$112), so if you can spare the extra change, there is always that. If not, I'm sure you can find it used for under $100 easily.- fusedpro

Headphones for producing.
Sennheiser HD600 are neutral with good bass, so they might be a pair to look into. Well below your price-range, too. They don't fold in/out, though, so no luck there. You'd also need an amp to get the most out of them, but I have no idea if that would be an issue for you or not.- fusedpro

About to pull the trigger on a Schiit Valhalla. Any comments for a newbie?
While not having used either of the amps in question, my word is only worth so much. That said, Schiit does, indeed, make quality products, so you definitely can't go wrong with that purchase. Personally, I would save the $200 and go for the LD MkIII. It'll provide plenty of power for your...- fusedpro
