    RME ADI-2 DAC Thread

Ah, OK ... I will have to research the benefits of using a pre-amp such as the ADI-2. My typical setup (once I am back to my old desk/house) is a 5.1 surround sound so I don't think it would work since the ADI-2 is only two channels, right?

    RME ADI-2 DAC Thread

Sorry, I edited my post to mention passive speakers. I think if I use active speakers I can use the ADI-2 as a DAC (and EQ?) but I'm wondering if I can also use the ADI-2 amplifier to power the speakers.

    RME ADI-2 DAC Thread

Is it possible to use the ADI-2 DAC to power small (passive) computer speakers? If this is possible, can anybody give me any recommendations or information? I obviously use the ADI-2 with headphones but I find myself occasionally wanting small speakers. I can buy small self-powered speakers...

Hey Selling my LCD-X I absolutely love these, they completely transformed my listening experience, especially with the chord mojo. Reason for selling: moving on to a van this year, so can't justify the space, going to stick to my CIEM's and IEM's. Also upgrading guitar gear. It comes in its...

    What's the recommended 3.5mm (1/8") with 6.35mm (1/4") screw-on connector/plug?

Thanks! However, I'm looking for the 3.5mm connector that would thread into that adapter.

    What's the recommended 3.5mm (1/8") with 6.35mm (1/4") screw-on connector/plug?

I'm not sure if I'm using the right terminology but I'm looking for a 3.5mm (1/8") male plug that can screw into a 6.35mm (1/4") male adapter. It seems like a lot of headphones include cables with these but I'm trying to build my own cable. Thanks!

aptX Adaptive / aptX Lossless USB Transmitters

Are there any bluetooth transmitters to pair with an RME ADI-2-DAC FS? I know it won't be perfect (Bluetooth audio is mostly lossy anyways) but I'd like to run everything through my ADI-2 (headphones, bluetooth, etc). Ideally the transmitter will support aptX adaptive (with low latency mode...

    RME ADI-2 DAC Thread

Are there any clever solutions to using the ADI-2 to output to a bluetooth transmitter? I know there are USB bluetooth transmitters for computers, but it would be nice to output everything from the PC to the ADI-2 and then output to headphones or bluetooth. Stupid idea or is this possible? If...

DIY Cable Questions and Comments Thread

It's an unbalanced cable for the DT-1990 (short cable to connect Qudelix 5K DAC/AMP). It looks like the Mogami 2893 has 3 colored conductors (red, black, and blue) plus a clear conductor. It sounds like I can just use the red+black+clear for L/R/GND? Also, sorry for the dumb question but do I...

DIY Cable Questions and Comments Thread

Hey guys ... I'm building a 1 foot custom Mini-XLR to 3.5mm cable with Mogami 2893 and Paracord 550. Do I need the shielding or should I just use three of the conductors from the Mogami 2893? Also, are there any tips or do you just basically put the conductors inside the Paracord and then...

    RME ADI-2 DAC Thread

Is this DAC/AMP/DSP still worth buying or is there anything better in the price-range? I've seen a few of these on eBay for under $800 which doesn't seem too bad when you compare buying these devices separately.

aptX Adaptive / aptX Lossless USB Transmitters

Sorry, I should have explained my devices. I'm using the Creative BT-W5 on my MacBook Pro (M1 Pro) with Apple Music and the Qudelix 5K (connected to DT-1990s).

aptX Adaptive / aptX Lossless USB Transmitters

Sorry, but I have another question... I'm using the BT-W5 which shows support for 'aptX High Quality' with 24 bit and up-to 96 kHz. However, when I connect it to the Qudelix 5K it only shows 48 kHz. I've made sure that the BT-W5 is using 'High Quality' (using the Creative app).

aptX Adaptive / aptX Lossless USB Transmitters

Yeah I saw that page too, thanks. I was wondering if there might be an iOS app or something that might not be 100% accurate but enough to see a difference.

OK - Thanks ... Also, is there a way for me to test audio latency myself with these devices?

aptX Adaptive / aptX Lossless USB Transmitters

What are the differences between the Creative BT-W5 and the DG60P? I've already purchased the BT-W5 but I'm looking for a second adapter and the BT-W5 is a bit expensive... ($50) but maybe it's worth it over the other dongles? I'm mostly concerned about low latency... (aptX adaptive w/low...

    Mini-XLR (3-pin) headphone to 3.5mm adapter? (re: NOT microphone/mono)

That looks great! I've built a few custom cables too but I'm in the process of moving and have a lot of things packed away. Let me know what you were thinking for price/parts. Thanks!

Qudelix 5K DAC/AMP (2V/80mW) isn't able to power DT 1990? (re: what is wrong in my calculations?)

    I've purchased a Qudelix 5K DAC/AMP which has the following specifications: 3.5mm (unbalanced) - 2 V RMS - 80 mW per channel 2.5mm (balanced) - 4 V RMS - 240 mW per channel ...and the Beyerdynamic DT 1990 Pro: 250 ohm Nominal - 102 dB SPL (1 mW / 500Hz) Max - 125 dB SPL (200 mW / 500 Hz)...

DAC+AMP with built-in PEQ? (or Qudelix + AMP?)

Are there any desktop DACs with a built-in PEQ? I'm using DT 1990s with a Monoprice Liquid Spark stack but I'm thinking about switching to a JDS Labs stack and maybe using a Qudelix 5K? However it would be nice to have a PEQ built into the DAC (ie. JDS Lab DAC+, which doesn't have an EQ) so I...

What is similar to DT 1990 but with less fatigue? (re: HD 600/650?)

I really love my Beyer DT 1990 headphones but I do experience fatigue after a short while and I also find them a bit physically uncomfortable (not the clamp force, but I think I have large ears?). I've wanted to try Sennheiser headphones so can anybody recommend me something with similar detail...

aptX Adaptive / aptX Lossless USB Transmitters

Is the Creative BT-W5 still considered the best option? The most appealing feature is the aptX adaptive low latency profile. I don't know if any others support this? (ie. not aptX LL, but aptX adaptive turned for low latency)

    Mini-XLR (3-pin) headphone to 3.5mm adapter? (re: NOT microphone/mono)

Are there any Mini-XLR (3-pin) headphone to 3.5mm adapters that are stereo (left/right) and not mono? I'm looking for an adapter and not a cable. There are many of these on Amazon but none seem to support stereo. I'm trying to find/build a compact method to attach a Qudelix 5k to DT 1990...

DT 1990 Pro - Uncomfortable and treble too high -- What about HD 800S? (re: gaming/music)

Thanks for the information. Is it possible to get larger pads (or any solution for the 1990s?) I wish I had a local place to try them but I can't seem to find any.
