I would say the IO is rather difficult to drive. On my es100 I should turn the volume up to the level of my Vega

I guess 789 as a desktop headphone amp has higher output impedance than M0, which makes IO sound weird. Also 789 is quite powerful which might be way more than what is enough for sensitive iems like IO so overdrive could be another reason.

My impression is quite opposite, BA is dominant on Solaris as upper midrange has more volume than bass. And comparing to Vega/Atlas you will find the bass is significantly less powerful, which I think is due to the fact that DD sound is shadowed by BA sound

Just swapped between Ref8 and the stock cable. To me the stock cable has better resolution and separation than Ref8. Ref8 has better soundstage width and more engaging to me.

In your RE2000 Gold review you mentioned that RE has more soundstage width than Andro, but in this review you said RE Silver has less soundstage width than Andro, does that means the silver version has a noticeably narrower soundstage than the gold version?

Well you can try R2R2000 which is quite small and it can be used as a Bluetooth DAC. The sound of R2R2000 is quite warm to my ear and I think that fit your taste

Also I highly recommend Luxury and Precision DAPs. I am currently using LP5 Ultra for my Vega. It has better resolution than WM1Z and better tonality than SP1000 with much more powerful output than both. The newer DAP L4 has no hiss on Andro and higher driving power than many DAPs in that price...

I actually quite enjoy Symbio with Vega. Symbio maintains the energetic sound signature of Vega and adds more air and soundstage to Vega. The bass quantity is lower as well. I am afriad Symbio will make Solaris extremely bright
