I had the q701s, when they sounded good they were amazing. Unfortunatly, to my ears, the q701s had a fatal flaw. They were too bright, too often. I would like to find an akg ( massive soundstage, detail retrieval, seperation/imaging ) that I can pair with a tube amp, that is not as fatigueing in...

I have already ordered mk2 and look forward to using it as a headphone amp. I am also really hoping I can use it as a pre-amp into a Marantz surround receiver. The mk2 Manual States some limitations on what the mk2 can be paired with . there is evidence, that some people have had great results...

Do I need to upgrade power tubes of mk2 or just use stock tubes. I plan on using mullard 8100 for pre's.thank you.

Both coaxial and spidf audio are making a static sound when the bdp-93 is hooked up to an Jds labs el dac. The el dac works fine with many other components. Any chance to get this to work?

I'm aware that the emotiva is a risk for easier to drive headphones. Anyone use these units with hd6xx's/650s which sounds better.

I suppose the audio gd dacs are much better but the power and price of the emotiva .a-100 appeals to me. Any thoughts?

is there a noricable difference between these two in sound quality? I will not be using the usb's on these dacs, I will use coaxial or spidf on forementioned dacs. keep in mind I am middle aged and my hearing is not excellent. I just don't want to spend $400 on nfb-11 and be disappointed. Thanks

Plan on buying these on ebay real cheap (for vocals) im thinking pleather may give better bass impact (apparently this headphone could use the help) at the expense of soundstage and velour the reverse. Any ideas thanks.
