Lusya Fever DAC SA9023A + ES9018K2M USB Power Requirements
Hello, I recently purchased a Lusya SA9023A + ES9018K2M dac from Aliexpress. I read in a review somewhere that the reviewer was able to get it to work on their Samsung devices, so I decided to try it out. I found that I could only get it to work with an Android device when i plugged it into a...- secretsubscriber

Android, USB Dac, UAPP, Spotify, Tasker and Switching between apps
Hello, I've decided to migrate from using a Fiio M6 to my old, rooted, Galaxy S4 and a USB Dac. I've tried that setup before, but got annoyed with the process of switching between USB Audio Player Pro and other apps. The process requires exiting apps and reconnecting the DAC to switch around...- secretsubscriber

Oldies but goodies? Galaxy s4 + fiio E18 Kunlun
I've spend the last couple of months trying DACs to pair with my Galaxy S4. I love this old phone because 1) it has a replaceable battery, 2) its very repairable. I recently replaced the micro usb port for $4 and everything i plug into it now works perfectly without disconnect issues and 3) its...- secretsubscriber

I recently bought one of these for 9.99 on Amazon. I paired it with my old Galaxy S4. After I replaced the S4's micro usb port (easy to do $4 replacement,) I've had not issues with disconnects. My headphones and IEMs are not demanding at all. This allows me to use the S4 as a dedicated DAP and...- secretsubscriber

FiiO Q1MKII- Native DSD Support, XMOS USB DAC chip, DAC AK4452, 20 hours
Hello, Does anyone have experience with the brand CEXO? I found the two cables below. In appearance, they look exactly like the Fiio cables, but they are less expensive. I bought these before I knew about the Fiio brand cables above. So far they work...- secretsubscriber

USB-C cable quality, loose ports and portable DACs
Hello, Question for long time users of portable dacs, with smartphones. Today the dac i have was disconnecting from my Galaxy S8 quite a bit and found the weak point. If the cable got jostled just enough it would disconnect the dac. I rigged a harness for the cable. But is this an issue of cable...- secretsubscriber

USB Audio Player Pro! It changed everything.
Hello, I just feel like sharing to those willing to read my story. Once upon a time my wife had an LG G6 Plus, the Amazon model. I had a Galaxy S8 at the time. I recommended the LG to her because they were giving 2 years of warranty, it had a lot of storage and the price was incredible and...- secretsubscriber

FiiO M6-FiiO releases the new firmware 1.0.2 for M6
Id like to make the following feature request(s): 1) Make the whitelist an advanced option that can be turned off or 2) have an optional unsupported version of the firmware with no whitelist. Call it a Dev version I think there are a lot of tech savvy fiio users out there willing to take risks...- secretsubscriber

[FiiO M6] Portable High-Resolution Lossless Music Player,Embracing A Wireless Future
Its not a stated feature and I assume its not officially supported but sometimes OTG just works even when there's no statement about it (like the current Amazon Fire tablets). The drive mounts but Fiio Music and the Fiio File Manager do not display it.- secretsubscriber

Has anyone tried OTG with storage on the M6? I hace tried unsuccessfully. I haven't seen anything regarding external storage support. Es File Explorer detects that the drive was inserted but is unable to read it. I assume it isn't supported.- secretsubscriber

PONO - Neil Youngs portable hi-res music player
I've been reading about PONO, Hi-res files and the loudness wars for the past week or so. I even downloaded Foobar's dynamic range tool just to see the differences between FLACs ripped from my older CDs (released in the 90's: the Doors, Pearl Jam, Beatles), an more recent CD and remasters...- secretsubscriber

Actually you might need to forget HiFiMan. I read that it plays 24/96 flac but downsamples. I'd still look into it. Its geared towards audiophiles. I think the Astell & Kern from iriver does support Flac up to 24/192. http://shop.iriverinc.com/ Its listed on the HD Tracks's site...- secretsubscriber

From my experience with the Archos 500GB, you have to take some things into consideration: No line out, if you plan on pairing it with an amp Its bulky for a portable solution. The UI isn't great especially due to its resistive screen. It can be buggy, and this goes with many Archos...- secretsubscriber
