Thanks. :)

Here´s the last picture, also showing the Q-Audio cable on the LCD-2s.

Nice pics, love your grass

Here in British Columbia that sentence has a whole different meaning Though you would insert "dude" in front of love :D

It reminded me of a movie with Snoop Dogg saying "I don´t know much about golf, but I know a lot about grass".

I am really confused abt ur rev.1 graph since it's just so so much different from mine. u sure it's rev.1? maybe the classic one? mine looks nothing like that. nothing.

my rev.2 graph looks similar with urs. but I didnt hv that boost around 7-8 kHz as high as urs

If you look at the difference on the graphs between my rev1 and rev2, you would think the rev 1 were the brighter can.

Lookie here guys...

All of the FR graphs of all of the LCD-2s I've ever seen are so close to one another that the variations seen could ALL be explained/caused by slightly different placement on the dummy head.  A few mm one way or the other.  Get over it.

athenaesword, have you tried the LCD-2s with the headphone amp of your Proton alone, not going through the Concerto?  I'd be interested to know if the Proton has enough power to drive them on its own.
Thanks,
John

Tried my LCD-2s with two amps today (same source).  Both with tone controls set to the mid-point.

The first was a Fisher X-101C.  The LCD-2s sounded very dark with this amp.  By the way, this same amp sounds great with Beyerdynamic DT-770 600 ohm cans.

Next tried them with a Kenwood KR-9050 receiver.  The LCD-2s sounded excellent, very neutral with this receiver.  Just proves that amp amp/receiver can make all the difference in the world.

Anyone finding the Rev2 fatiguing? Mine have been playing (burning?) for about four hours, but the upper-mid/treble reminds me immediately of the Grado 325... harsh. Leading edges of notes have a stabbing hardness about them. Difficult to listen to some music (well recorded, I thought) for more than a few minutes.

Instead of always the volume up as with the Rev1, I'm reaching to turn it down.

I'm hoping this might tone down over time - as it seemed to with the HE6.

Early days though. Sorry, I'm a glass half empty kind of guy :)... will bring a more balanced report later perhaps.

Other than that, the Rev 2 is certainly clearer and tighter. But if it remains fatiguing for me, it will have to go.

BmWr75,
Interesting. My recently overhauled (by NOSValves) Fisher X-202-B with my LCD-2 Rev.1s doesn't sound dark at all.
