What method are you playing from? Category, file browser, playing an album, playlist, or shuffling etc.? I only file browse and listen to albums and have never experienced this. I've got 100+ gigs of music on my X1II.
I'm playing only using the file browser, but for the sake of the experiment, I tried to upload a database during the day, and the problem persisted.
I'll try to format my microSD, keeping you in touch.

Hey, everyone!
I'm reporting a really odd bug that I found: I have a lot of music (50+Gb on 4900+ files), and I have constated that since I went past 50Gb of music, sometimes my X1-II will play an other track that the one selected after some time of playback, even though they're not in the same directory.
It's even weirder considering that there seems to be some consistency: for exemple, I tried to play the first song from the directory A and after tt:tt minutes the X1-II played the 1st track of the directory B, at the same time tt:tt. I also tried with the 6th song of directory A and it played the 6th song of the directory B just as described.

I can't track down what could be the issue here, and after reading the thread, it seems that I'm the only one having that kind of bug :frowning2:

Dear friend,

Sorry to hear about that. This seems to be a strange issue.

What's the firmware version of your X1II? Did you turn on the play throught folder function? Please try do a factory restore and format your card to FAT32 to see whether it helps?

Sorry for bringing inconvenience to you.

Best regards

Is there going to be anymore firmware updates to the X1II to further optimize the speed of the device or any other enhancements?

Hi,
Recently i got the X1II, great player.
I have one issue, if i activate all the buttons while the screen is off sometimes the device wont enter idle (while music is paused), the blue led is on and i cant turn on the screen (in android the same issue was called sleep of death), if this happen i have to do a hard reboot.
Just wanted to call out this issue and hope you can fix it in future update.
I'm on the latest version (1.6.0).

Dear friend,

Our software team've made some improvement on the firmware(FW1.6.2) trying to fix the issue, you could try to upgrade and see if this could work. Download link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/zoqg77io8djtpzz/X1II-FW1.6.2.zip?dl=0

So there hasn't been any updates about the black screen issue in v1.6.2? It's been more than a month since I posted that update. :triportsad:

Will gapless mp3 play be made available soon? The original X1 had it, so it seems strange for it to be absent from the updated version.

EDIT: Never mind, found it...

But does it actually work for MP3s? I thought I read that ti didn't work for that particular file format..maybe that was fixed. I'd still like to see if they can speed up the device a little more...I still get some lag but it's not too bad.

Gapless works fine for me with mp3 and AAC. I just wish @FiiO would fix the half second being cut off from the first song in a folder.

Me too. That is annoying.
Honestly, that half second thing is my only real gripe about the X1II. I found some IEMs that sound good with it over the past couple weeks. The EX1 did not play well with it. I only use folder browsing so I haven't experienced any of the issues that come from using the category method.

Oh yeah you said you were getting some noise with certain earphones...I never did pick up a pair of EX1s. I only use folder browsing too so I don't really know how well it works using it by category.

Glad to see the X3 Mark III is officially on the Fiio site and a thread has been started.

Although nothing posted in the thread yet it looks like the X3-III is a very nice step up from the X1-II. Looking forward to more information and some feedback in the coming weeks. Bluetooth 4.1 with AptX is a definite step up from the poor bluetooth implementation on the X1-II. Curious to see where Fiio prices this especially in comparison to the Sony A40 which we should see released in a few months.

Awesome times ahead for the DAP market. Just wish Fiio could start releasing DAP's with better battery life as the X3-III is still at 10 hours like the X3-II. It will make it hard for the X3-III to compete with the A40 at 3x the battery life.

So glad now I did not take the plunge on the X1-II. Hopefully the X3-III will be a more complete DAP on release vs the X1-II
