Today, I've tried, still on an Atoll HD100, my Focal Clears and a Fostex TH610. The Fostex was nice, more punchy, but the Clears were clearly more pleasant to me.

I didn't even think about that but it's a good idea. What ear pads are you using? I just ordered replacements from Headphones.com but I like experimenting with different pads.I put the zipper side of my Geerika on the thinner rear side. I just unzipped it a bit and I don't see any imprints.

These pads are from eBay. Very affordable and they're great. Been using them for about 16 months and no sign of wear.I didn't even think about that but it's a good idea. What ear pads are you using? I just ordered replacements from Headphones.com but I like experimenting with different pads.

The HD6XX has a nominal impedance of 300 ohms; the DT880 comes with nominal impedances of 80 ohms, 250 ohms, 600 ohms. Focal Clear OG: nominal 55 ohms. Note this from the Drop website:Haven't tried it but recently I bought the Drop + xDuoo TA-84 OTL Tube Amp, it would be my first OTL Tube Amp I ever own and it's really good news to hear that Clears play really well with OTLs, I mainly bought that tube amp for my Senn HD6XX and DT880s but now I can add the Clears to that list of cans that I will be listening too with that amp.
Thanks, oh well, if it doesn't work out with the clears that would be a bummer, but I still have my 6XX and DT880s, and I'm also planning of preamping my S17 with that amp... Waiting for the audiophile inquisition to be knocking at my door anytime soon. The HD6XX has a nominal impedance of 300 ohms; the DT880 comes with nominal impedances of 80 ohms, 250 ohms, 600 ohms. Focal Clear OG: nominal 55 ohms. Note this from the Drop website: Focal Clear driven by TA-84 may exhibit overly enthusiastic, lightly controlled bass/midbass due to the headphone <-> amplifier impedance mismatch. You may like that, though!

Got these perforated sheepskin replacement earpads:

Very nice build quality, fit and comfort. Soundwise, it feels like the midbass is too strong (guesstimating around 2db) with those compared to the OG pads, so EQ is needed.

I honestly didn't know that earpads were that important.
I have the Clear OG Pro, it could be difficult to find "stylish" earpads for them.

Thanks. It works great.I don't like the aesthetics of the headband covers so I got one of these straps for my Clear MG Pro. It was mainly to prevent staining the headband, but I think it's pretty comfortable as well.

I'm once again an owner of the Focal Clear (OG). Glad to have it back in the stable. I waited to make this post so @ColSaulTigh would not be upset with my use of the stock cable while my Norne Audio was being produced...

Is there really a difference ? I can't hear a difference with a DAC/headphones amp and my laptop...so...

I LOVE my OG Clears. It's my only headphone that I don't have to software EQ some glaring flaw. That is after replacing the stock cable and stock ear pads though. Anyways, it sounds great with the xDuoo TA-22. Is there an amp that pairs well and expands the soundstage of the Clear, or a headphone that's similar with a more expansive soundstage?
