    Brooko's Reviews - Past & Future

Been meaning to do the FH7 for a while now. But have also been working 60-70 hour weeks for last 2 months. Time is my biggest problem at the moment

    Brooko's Reviews - Past & Future

Depends on what you want. The S8 has more at the low end, and because of that sounds a little fuller. Vocals are a bit more distant than the FH7 - but I kind of like it when vocals are less in your face. For me the S8 fit a little better and definitely isolated better. For me personally -...

    FLAC vs. 320 Mp3

We have no idea if its the same master. How did they create the files? They don't say. This is inherently wrong: Can you hear the difference? Take this quiz to find out. One hint: Turn your volume up. What you should be doing is playing it at your normal listening level - and seeing if you can...

Reply to review by 'Brooko' on item 'AKG Q701 Premium Class Reference Headphones, Quincy Jones Signature Line'

Nope - when I reviewed these, the K812 had just been released. There is also the K1000. Both would be considered well above the Q701 in terms of TOTL among AKGs line ;)

    Brooko's Reviews - Past & Future

Review by 'Brooko' on item 'AME Custom Radioso'

INTRODUCTION Earlier in the year I had the opportunity to test and review AME's Argent IEM. It was a 6 driver Inner Ear Monitor featuring a combination of 4 BA drivers and 2 Electret (micro electrostatic) drivers. I loved the Argent, and if anything my only critique would have been that the bass...

    Shure SE846 Impressions Thread

Adding to Plakat's reply - the only reason they use balanced cables in a studio environment is noise rejection for a long run of cables. Its only when the cable runs are getting long, and the benefits do not translate to comparatively very short IEM cables. So in short - no, there won't be a...

    Shure SE846 Impressions Thread

No - not unless the balanced circuit is changing impedance. Lets look at it this way ...... from a DAP point of view ........ The specs will actually tell you more than your hearing will. Take the X7ii and its new balanced module. It'll put 17mW into a 300 ohm load SE but 63 mW into the same...

    Hifiman TWS600 - First Impression

Plus one on the reference tool / IEM. And secret is to go with an IEM when comparing IEMs. Mine is the Alclair Curve. Its very balanced, very flat. If anything I like to add a little amount of sub-bass to the Curve (for the slight drop-off) Compare the very benign slight rise of the Curve...

    Hifiman TWS600 - First Impression

The point is George. Read your review. Then imagine the innocent audiophile who reads it and buys them based on your recommendation, and the regret they'll have afterwards. If you can't see that ...... what's the point? A review is not for the company who provided it. It should be your...

    Hifiman TWS600 - First Impression

Put it this way Ryan - does this sound like the pair you have: If this is what audiophile sound is - then I'm on the wrong forum

    Hifiman TWS600 - First Impression

If you take the default tuning - they are pretty much garbage. And no tips is going to ameliorate that close to 20dB peak at just below 2kHz. Its not my measurements either - Crinns show the same thing (two different measurement devices, almost same result). Every other measurement I've seen...

    Hifiman TWS600 - First Impression

funny how differently we hear them: ******************************************************************** yours: Where most TWS IEMs of this moment go for either warm signatures, that are smooth and where the bass bleeds a bit in the midrange, or V-Shaped signatures that create a nice balance and...

[FiiO FH7] Flagship 5-Driver (1DD + 4BAs) Hybrid In-Ear Monitors, Knowles DFK + SWFK Composite BA Drivers, 13.6mm Beryllium DD Driver

Nope - not even close. FA7 = overly warm, too much lower mids and low bass. FH7 = surprisingly neutral and really well balanced.
