Part of the Susvara fun is the journey of finding the right amp. Just because other people feel an amp is “perfect” doesn’t make it perfect for me. At the end of the road you feel both satisfied and accomplished. You don’t get that when you just throw money at it hoping that it’s the best.

I get bored of sound signatures over time and need a variety of sounds. The MJ3 and Mentor is significantly different in their presentation so it’s literally comparing Apple to oranges. Having both is good. MJ3 would be a good comparison to the M field or one of the tube amps of similar pricing.

I’m too satisfied with the current Mentor to side grade to a M field. I need much more convincing that it will add value to my current setup of MJ3, Lyr 3, and Mentor stack. Such a first world problem. :deadhorse:

That’s strange. You should contact Mimic. They go by a different order number. Mine is #4862, ordered at the end of December. In April I was told I had 20 orders ahead of me. Current ModHouse is completing their November direct orders but they didn’t say a thing about Mimic Orders for November...

Bifrost can’t compete. You’ll need at least an Yggy GS2. The sound upgrade is drastic.

Funny thing. I know one other guy who had similar issues with negativity like you have (talked to him just 2 weeks ago). He failed on every psych meds and was into a lot of drugs. He finally did ketamine treatment regularly and now he’s a happy camper.

Considering the Mentor has at least a 2 month wait you can probably sell it pretty easily.

Or you could preamp a tube amp into the Mentor. Even my low budget Lyr 3 preamp made the Mentor have more body to its mid and better timbre.

Gear synergy is a real thing. Susvara, HEK, Tungsten, and likely the TC 1266 will do really well on Mentor but won’t do as well on MJ3. Conversely my Grados and your Meze do better on MJ3.

You would benefit from the dual mentor stack as it has 2.5 times the power.

I know this is a bit off topic but if the 600s got an update should we expect an update on the 800s series as well?

Just to chime in even though I don’t have the MK465, I’m very thankful for all the reviews you all been providing. The reviews here saved me a good 15K since most of what is stated here is what I got from my Flux Mentor dual stack anyway. I may still try out the 394ii in the future.

Everyone has a different taste but most people still take the Susvara as top 3 if not top #1 of headphones right now. 1266 is also ranked up there by most. I’m still deciding between getting a 1266 vs a Caldera Open as my next HP. Ugg choices.

The left and right ears are always different in structure. Some people have it more so than others. Your right ear can be physically smaller than the left and so more susceptible to air vibrations. Ever try on-ear headphones?
