Shanling ET3 - Dedicated Digital CD Transport, With USB Drive and Wi-Fi Support

Even after reset it was the same thing, but I found a solution.
Guess what?

Just open the CD Lid and remove the CD, and insert it back again.
Done, no more skips.

@Shanling is my unit faulty or is this expected?

Was it only with some CDs or all of them? This sounds more likely as a random reading error than anything big.

Everytime I start the device, this is the issue I face.
And with mostly all CDs
In this case we would recommend reaching out to your seller for warranty check on your unit.

Interesting... I have quite a few gold CDs and they've never been an issue on the CDPs I've owned (Rega, Cyrus, NAD, Pioneer).

I was able to program my universal remote with some trickery to play any track between 1-20.

I think the official answer here was no, not sure if that has changed.
Talking about universal remote and numeric key control (which to me is important).

Since ET3 is bluetooth enable, possible Shanling software development team to make Eddict Player apps with numeric key control feature?

@Shanling when I have both AES and I2s outputs connected to the same DAC, I am unable to upsample to DSD via i2s.

Is this expected?

Sorry, I'm not sure what is your exact setup? Why you have two inputs running to the same DAC?

Do you mean it gives you some error message?

It seems manufacturer is not keen on this feature or overlook my question?

Shanling already addressed that. It's not a priority feature for them to be able to directly select tracks.

For future reference, tag @Shanling if you want a direct response.

Shanling ET3 outputs to Gustard R26, via AES and i2S
Of course this is not a permanent thing but to check which combo sounds better.

PCM works as expected, but when I try to upsample to DSD via i2s, I just get pcm.
There is no error or anything.

When I remove the AES output from Shanling but still connected on R26 end, I can upsample via DSD on i2s

How did you get the Shanling to output DSD correctly?
I have a Gustard X18 dac, and I only use the I2S output from the Shanling. I think I'm correctly setting the Shanling to output DSD, but I only get PCM decoded by the Gustard.
I am able to decode DSD correctly from my SACD player, but not the Shanling.
If you could send along the various Shanling setting you use, that could help me.

Thanks! JMac

This is feature that is available on ECMini, there you can skip directly between CD tracks.

On ET3, we were told by engineers that the hardware doesn't support such feature.

That's all the info we have for now.

Alright, so it works correctly with single output. So we would recommend to use that for now.

Will report this to engineers to check on.

Do you have a custom cable made for connection between your DAC and ET3?

Yes, I had a custom I2S cable made for this configuration.
My question was also directed to amrutmhatre90, as he was able to get DSD outputted correctly.
