FiiO X1 II (2nd Gen) w/ Bluetooth!
Jun 8, 2017 at 4:04 AM Post #2,716 of 3,121
Hi everyone, i have been using my fiio x ii for a month and i'm overall (very) satisfied but a problem just occurred (or maybe it started before but i didn't realize it) : when i play a song within an album and the player is showing the cover of that album then the informations that used to appear above that picture (name of the file, name of the folder, mp3 or aac or flac (depending on the file obviously) + 44.1khz or 192khz) disappear within the first seconds of the song.
That problem (informations including the name of the album + the type of file mp3/aac/flac) doesn't occur when i switch to "no" the "show the picture of the album" setting.

I don't know what to do, i'm either forced to keep the cover of the albums but i'm missing the name of that album + file informations or switch off those pictures to keep those informations visible during the whole song (and not during less than 5 seconds at the beginning of it).
I tried to restore the fiio to the default settings but it didn't fix the issue.

Thanks for any help you could give me, and sorry for my flawed english :D

NB : my fiio x1 ii has been on 1.6.0 for about his whole life except the first 10 minutes i got it (it was on 1.5.6 and i immediately upgraded it)

Dear friend,

The X1II is supported to act like that. The ID3 information will disappear after a few seconds if the song has an ablum art, in order to avoid shading the album art. You can still read the title or song name after the ID3 disappearing.

Best regards

I have noticed a "popping" sound at the beginning of some tracks. It does not all ways happen and I can all so back up and play the song from the beginning again with out a "pop".

Weird. I recall reading about this problem or a similar one but as I said, it happens infrequently but is all the same, weird.
The X1 II is a beauty in rose gold and many of my friends have said as much. I told them I recommend it over any iPod and have given them fair warning of the past problems and the need for firmware upgrades immediately upon receiving their player.

Thank you.

I get that random pop as well when I start to play an album on the first track. I get it with flac or mp3 files, but it's random. I always get the pop when an album finishes though. Hopefully, this will get addressed in future fw updates.

I get that too but it's not really that bothersome....at least it isn't a loud pop. I guess the first couple seconds of the the first song on an album being cut off album bothers me most. But you can just rewind to the beginning and it plays fine then.

Dear friends,

Some customers have reported to us that X1 2nd gen would freeze or go black in some certain operation. We're really sorry about this problem.

Our software team've made some improvement on the firmware trying to fix the issue. If you met that issue before, you could try to upgrade this beta firmware and see if this could work.

Download link at here: Click here.

Looking forward to your kind feedback.

@FiiO, This is a botched update, i tried installing it, as soon as the player reboots the second time after the update process completes, the screen goes black after reboot.
Removing the memory card solves the problem, but as you update the library again and try to play any song by going into category, the screen again goes black. You can hear the scroll ticks, so the player is running, but the screen goes blank. Tried restoring the device, doesn't work.
Have reverted to v1.6.0 in the meantime, it's working perfectly. Kindly look into the issue @FiiO

Dear friend,

The black screen issue happens in FW1.6.2beta instead of FW1.6.0 right? After finishing updating the media library?

Thanks for the kind feedback.

Yes, v1.6.0 is working fine, v.1.6.2beta has the black screen issue after library update, and on the first successful boot after the update.

Hey, everyone!
I'm reporting a really odd bug that I found: I have a lot of music (50+Gb on 4900+ files), and I have constated that since I went past 50Gb of music, sometimes my X1-II will play an other track that the one selected after some time of playback, even though they're not in the same directory.
It's even weirder considering that there seems to be some consistency: for exemple, I tried to play the first song from the directory A and after tt:tt minutes the X1-II played the 1st track of the directory B, at the same time tt:tt. I also tried with the 6th song of directory A and it played the 6th song of the directory B just as described.

I can't track down what could be the issue here, and after reading the thread, it seems that I'm the only one having that kind of bug :frowning2:

What method are you playing from? Category, file browser, playing an album, playlist, or shuffling etc.? I only file browse and listen to albums and have never experienced this. I've got 100+ gigs of music on my X1II.
