New review pages layout
Yeah I see what you mean. Those are good points. Perhaps we should concentrate that information into a table showing everyone's purchase date and price in an easy to read list rather than scattering it throughout a long list of reviews? Lemme put some more thought into it. Thanks for bringing it...- ahilal

New review pages layout
There's now an individual page for each review. Some of the finer point details of each review were moved from the multi-review page onto the single review page. We didn't remove any of the review elements. We just don't show the entire kitchen sink for all reviews, all at the same time, all on...- ahilal

Review by 'ahilal' on item 'Klipsch IMAGE S4 In-Ear Enhanced Bass Noise-Isolating Headphones'
I got a pair of these to use with my iPhone for listening to music as well as making calls. So far I'm pretty pleased. I agree with raghunath that they are a little bassy, at least compared to my last cheap pair. But I don't mean that in a bad way. I like the way they sound. They're a very...- ahilal

Inception: Film of the Year?
I liked Inception fine but wasn't as impressed as others. I had two problems with it. 1) The "architect" thing didn't make any sense, and I didn't find Ellen Page credible in the role. The architect is some kind of supergenius artiste who "creates the world" for everyone but it never...- ahilal

How to ship an item sold on eBay?
I always offer USPS Priority Mail as the only option. I tell people in my listing what the flat rate will be within the US, and that international shipping will have to be arranged by mutual agreement. I usually just guess at what the weight will be and check the USPS website for postage within...- ahilal

A Mere Mortals Guide To Why Bose Headphones Suck
Audio newbies are often surprised to find that Bose products are not well-thought-of by more experienced audio experts. Bose's highly competent marketing and high prices lead many average consumers to believe that their products are high-quality. Friction can develop between people who've...- ahilal

First headphone amp purchase - need advice
So it turns out my coworker heard me talking about wanting an amp and built me one! Always cool to have a unique DIY job, and he said I should just take him out to lunch in return. Nice resolution!- ahilal

Me and Fraseyboy are OK! Earthquake!
Ouch - all those masonry facades just got shrugged right off. Can you imagine if you were walking in or out of one of those doorways when all those bricks hit the pavement? I'm writing from San Francisco, where there are a lot of old buildings with similar facades. They're all reinforced /...- ahilal

I'm considering teaching English in Asia, does anyone have advice?
Look into Thailand. Close friends of mine have been teaching there for years. They started out where you are: basic language instruction, but are now full time teachers in a private school that has made English a chosen first language. They say that teachers are basically professional class...- ahilal

I heard there is a universe with a similiar solar system like ours.. Does this mean anything?
Quote: I had the same thought, and I guess it's true that we can't make any assumptions about what form life could take elsewhere. Even on Earth there are some lifeforms that thrive in extreme circumstances. Bacteria that can live at the mouth of undersea geothermal vents, cockroaches...- ahilal

I heard there is a universe with a similiar solar system like ours.. Does this mean anything?
Planets are small and dark and it was not until pretty recently that we were able to see them outside our own solar system. One way of looking for them out there is to look for their gravitational pull on other objects we can see. The presence of a planet's mass can cause a nearby star to...- ahilal

Starcraft 2
Quote: It's still a great game! I never got into the SC2 beta so I spent a lot of the last 6 months playing SC1 to brush up on my skills. It was very good practice, I find. Things have changed but strategically and tactically many of the same concepts apply. Quote: Yes! I...- ahilal

Starcraft 2
Quote: I completely agree. This is my big complaint about the campaign right now. I want a challenge, but putting me on a rushed countdown isn't my idea of a good challenge. And you're right - the missions really are scripted. I'm thinking about the first mission on Char where you need to...- ahilal

First headphone amp purchase - need advice
Thanks. Those Turtle Beach headphones look nice. A little more than I was hoping to spend, perhaps. The cord would also have to be really long to reach from the machine to where I sit. I guess I forgot to mention that. I run the signal through a long miniplug extension cable, around the room to...- ahilal

First headphone amp purchase - need advice
Hola Head-Fi'ers! Question from a pretty green newb here. I need a way to amplify the audio that comes out of my Xbox 360 so I can listen to it with headphones. The signal is very weak when I plug the headphones in directly, I believe because it's an unamplified signal. Right now I have...- ahilal
