@Slush give a try to German Maestro 8.35D and see whether it fits your needs. Nearly indestructible construction. There is another one I would recommend to check, Audio-Technica ATH-Sx1a.- Max Choiral

Looks like the days of my ER4S pair are numbered. Both barrels are showing tiny cracks on the nozzle area. Might be due to age or the infamous Knowles filter issue. Any idea that might help to save Ety? Superglue?- Max Choiral

@EtyDave I suppose, acoustic dampers are matched in Etymotic iems as well? It seems Knowles dampers come in different sizes. Do you know the size for ER4?- Max Choiral

Maybe it's placebo but somehow plastic green filters paired with ER4 result in different sound vs Knowles acoustic dampers. Does anyone know where genuine Knowles dampers can be purchased?- Max Choiral

The Headphone Driver Pics Thread
And the reason for that is? Also, according to service manual it's not a good idea to open up 700's until absolutely necessary: "More than 30 minutes's exposure of a high polymer diaphragm used in the SE-700 will affect its property, resulting in impairing the tone quality. Also never touch...- Max Choiral

Experiencing weird behavior with my ER4. Feels like balance has shifted slightly towards the right side, and sometimes most sounds come from this earpiece. Everything was "centered" before. Does anyone have a clue what that might be? New eartips didn't work. I haven't tried to change the...- Max Choiral

Considering all the tweaks you did with it I would say K340 is a very poorly designed headphones :relaxed: I certainly would not tinker with headphones without measurement gear and necessary knowledge for all the stuff, but that's just me. Orthodynamic Roundup
Final Audio D8000 Depends on what model you're comparing to. Although I'd heard PM-3 a long time ago, I would say it has a "cleaner" sound overall, free of that common "haze" among vintage. PM-1 is a whole different beast, much better than aforementioned.- Max Choiral
