    CanJam NYC 2018 Impressions (February 17-18, 2018)

The market works just as intended - but every time I look at Tia's price tag, I have to take a glance at oBravo's lineup to be consoled.

Glad to notice that someone here actually acknowledges the history of 64 Audio.

    CanJam NYC 2018 Impressions (February 17-18, 2018)

The AQ NightOwl performs just like its name indicates: dark and darker. I only prefer it when it's silent. The Aeon has a much better tonal balance although it is still veiled and missing something in the upper midrange.

Meze EMPYREAN - the First Isodynamic Hybrid Array Headphone

I agree that Meze has the potential to make the Empyrean sound good. But with that price tag and the limited offering, I have to say it is a scheme of hunger marketing.

Meze EMPYREAN - the First Isodynamic Hybrid Array Headphone

The Aeon is veiled compared to many headphones that are in the $1k+ bracket, i.e the Clear, the HD800/s, the HEX.

If I were you I'd wait for the Tia Trio in the second-hand market. I don't think there's any other options that utilizes Adel or Apex besides EE and 64 audio. You could try the EE Apollo though.

I suggest we both take a step back, have a drink and listen to some good music to deaden the dissonances. There's always a wall of interpretation between facts and opinions and there is no reason to become overly concerned about who is more right or who is more wrong. That said, I do learn a...

I knew these had been a thing for some time but I have yet seen a review or a post about them. It's quite a jump from below $1000 to the 2k tier though...

The LCD-i4 in comparison even looks reasonably affordable.. Anyway, to quench my impulse of collecting I might just settle with a used pair of KSE 1500 while watching all of you enjoying the new Tia offerings..

I play piano in my spare time. The college where I teach actually has a studio with great recording equipment as well as an auditorium with some nice speaker setups. Goes to college-sponsored performances fairly often. Also goes to the bars after work and partake in some live scenes, mostly...

Same opinion here. The lack of isolation and its need for EQ has always been a deal-breaker for me.

Exactly! Guess that's why Gemini is designed with a bass boost switch. 8SH is originally intended to be a studio reference monitor, I suppose. But again it kinda reminds of the original HD800 minus the holographic soundstage but plus the more intimate presentation. Most IEMs still lack the...

Listened to the qdc 8SH again, again impressed by how it was able to combine musicality with excellent layering and separation. Everything is well-placed with just the right tonality as well as details. Though it did lack the guilty pleasure of listening to Rhapsodio Galaxy v3. At the end of...

Yea qdc sounds (...inserts any superlatives) good. But the ticket is expensive though.

Got my qdc 8SH in the house...gonna drive now to work with those on. Originally ordered from Music Sanctuary by a friend who happened to prefer his Gemini more; luckily I got this opportunity to enjoy those now...(Even got a pm from Music Sanctuary few days ago, would vouch for their passion for...

You can try looking for a T8iE on Amazon or secondhand market. Brilliant tuning at a great price.

Universal. I don't like CIEM as it requires a longer wait time/ build time. Bought from Music Sanctuary- a Singaporean site I suppose.

V3 is a giant leap forward comparing to the v1, althought my distant memory could be wrong. The mid is still less full-bodied (or colored) than a mid-centric counterpart, say Fidus A91; but it has improved in other fields considerably. It is one of the few that I feel constantly the need to turn...
