Senn HD 558 vs Fidelio X1 vs HiFiMan He 400

Hello guys, I'm looking to upgrade my current headphones and these three are the candidates.   What I love when listening to music is being able to follow individual instruments (specially the bass guitar) and being able to hear details, like the sound of cymbals (which sometimes are hidden...

Cheapest way to get some decent 7.1 surround sound into a pair of DT 770s?

The 80ohm pro version.   These would be perfect if I could just get some surround sound in them. Would make playing games like skyrim, fps, and watching movies 100x more enjoyable.

    Help removing Sennheiser HD558 Pads

I am trying to remove the pads which I was able to do on my 518's but the pads on the 558's are a much softer material and seem much more prone to being ripped. They seem much to fragile to take off. I feel if I pull any harder they are going to rip! Any tips?

    Sennheiser HD558: Need new cord/adapter

So back when I got these, there weren't many options as far as the extremely large cord with adapter went, has anything changed? I would love to get a shorter, coiled cable. Anyways, I broke the adapter running into it at my pc since it sticks out so dang far. What are my best options here...

    Non-peaky treble headphones

Hi, I'm interested in picking up some $100-$150 headphones and I was looking at things like Sennheiser HD 558 or V-MODA Crossfade LP. However, I have a big concern. My only experience with $100 and up headphones was with my friends AKG240's, while using them I noticed a problem. Whenever a...

    Ordered the Sennheiser HD 558's.

Hi all. New to this forum but I figured I'd join to hear some input.   I ordered the Sennheiser HD 558's off Amazon since my old Sennheiser 220's broke recently. (They were cheaply made)   I also own the ATH-M50's and they're pretty good. I might try Momentum's in the future when I get more...

Anything Better than the HD 558 in the price range?

I'm considering picking up a pair of HD 558.  They go for $120 ish on amazon new and $90 ish used.  Not sure if it's worth buying used?   Anyway I listen to pretty much every genre but mostly 2/3 rock and metal and 1/3 hip hop with the occasional country and classical thrown in.    Anything...

    Buying my first pair of headphones: V-Moda M80s, SRH440, CAL 2, HD558, or M50s?

Up until this point, I've always used cheaper headphones ($40 range), and I'm looking to invest in a pair of nicer cans. I'm currently in high school, so my budget is $150, on Amazon.com, since I happen to have some gift cards there.   I listen to EDM / Indie Rock mostly, and I'm looking for a...

Is it possible to use a V-Moda BoomPro mic with Sennheiser HD 558s?

So I jumped the gun on a purchase of the v-moda boompro mic (www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BJ17WKK/) to go along with my Sennheiser HD 558s. I didn't realize the 558s had a special locking mechanism so a standard 2.5mm doesn't fit. On top of that, the boompro uses a 3.5mm connector. I've read you...

Well, I never thought I'd do this in my life. This is my first (kind of) review of any headphones, and it has to be a Beats one!
