Has anyone corroborated the synergy and volume capability of the QP1R dap with the HEK as in the excellent review above??

 
I find the review to be completely accurate with regard to the synergy and volume capability with the HEK.

There is going to be HE1000 V2. The news is posted on Hifiman's official wechat account. And it will have its debut in the HK hifi show August 5th-7th.
 
It is said that they are focusing on improving the headband, yoke, earpad, cable and weight. 
 
I am really looking forward to it, as my biggest complaint about the original is the overall lack of attention to detail.

Neither drivers or SQ are mentioned in the post, it seems they are solely focusing on build quality this time.

I hope they offer an upgrade path. They sent an email offering all sorts of trade-up prices to the HE1000 for Hifiman and other brands of headphones, so I hope they will offer a trade-up to the V2.

I hope they provide upgrade too, seems to be a good trend for the industry, both Audeze and Mr. Speakers are offering upgrades.

Seems to me, unless you have a problem with the fit of the headband or something similar, if the drivers/sound are the same (and that's still not known), I wouldn't spend more to update. If there is a sonic improvement, of course, that changes things.

I don't think there is change in driver, as they have spent 7 years R&D on it, haven't they.
It can not be updated in such short time, I guess.
If they have better earpad, that could change SQ right?
I don't care other decoration upgrade, I might get new earpad if they have it.

Inasmuch as I just purchased mine 2 months ago I certainly hope there is a reasonable option for upgrading.

Yes, Hifiman should take care of its flagship headphone customers. Upgrades should be priced reasonably especially for ear pads and cables.

i honestly hope they don't mess with the SQ. i love my HEK, and after a recent return and replacement from hifiman, i have no issues with the build quality.

Hooked up my he1000 to my he6's speaker amp (the Ear Yoshino V12). Now I'm starting to fall in love with my he1000 all over again!
