Hi all, hope you’re keeping well. I am thinking of upgrading my dac but have no idea of which wsy to turn. I am currently using an Arcam ir dac ii (£450) with a Rupert Neve RNHP amp which i love all plugged into isol-8 mains filtration with Van den Hul mains cables. I am willing to buy second...

Better quality modem/router for streaming to get better sound quality?

Recently ive turned my attention to my modem/router to improve the sound of my streaming (Amazon HD). I have put on a decent mains cable and an Audioquest ethernet cable and this has improved things greatly. Now, i use the bundled router/modem with my Sky fibre service, are there better quality...

    Need help with Foil btr5

Hi just bought this gem and I'm trying to get to grip with it, firstly is there an in-depth manual online? Secondly I've installed the music app and selected Ldac and aptxhd codecs as my choice but the display is still showing SBC what am I doing wrong? Forgive me for my lack of understanding...

    Grado headphone choice....

I demo'd the rs2e in a store near me and was reassured they were fully burnt in, I took along my 325e's for comparison but found them better in every area, especially dynamics. I was disappointed as I had read so many good reviews on them. The 80's I bought mainly for portable use, as they just...

    Grado headphone choice....

I currently own Grado 80e and 325e's and obviously love the Grado 'sound' and have thought about upgrading to get greater transparency and detail but after recent disappointment auditioning the rs2e's, preferring the 325e's I dont know where to look next? Or should I just stick with what I have...

    Bowers & Wilkins PX Noise-Cancelling Over-ears

I agree Szmarci and they are such well made and beautiful sounding headphones, but just think.in terms of purpose they are not quite there.

    Bowers & Wilkins PX Noise-Cancelling Over-ears

I wasn't using them for sport, I wore them outside for a walk, plus isn't the whole idea of loosing wires is to make them portable? And isn't portable (ie Walkman) intended for outside use? I think if B&W stated that they couldn't be used outside I think sales may be affected.

    Bowers & Wilkins PX Noise-Cancelling Over-ears

Just returned a pair which I owned for a month, really liked the sound which was dark but accurate but too many issues. They cannot be used passively which is a big issue if the battery runs out, its too complicated for its own good (sensor plays up) and the last straw, wore them outside, it...

Rank the Headphones that You Own.

Not many in this list but love them all for different reasons: Sennheiser hd600: neutral and accurate Shure srh1540: loads of fun, love the bass! Audio Technica msr7: ideal portable for me and the other half.

    New Shure SRH1540 closed-back headphones?

Just thought I would add my bit, ive owned the 1540's for a few weeks now and live them faults and all. I also own a pair of hd600's and will be keeping them as they are more accurate thats for sure. Its just that I find the Shure's are bags of fun, top end is spot on, mids are slightly...

Adding a battery power supply to a dac.

I notice that the dac is 1.5amp and the battery is 2.1amp would this be an issue?

Adding a battery power supply to a dac.

Hi I currently have an Arcam irdac which has a 12v wall wart power supply, I was thinking the other night whilst indulging in a beer or two wether it would be a simple task to add a rechargeable 12v battery in its place? The power supply is 2amps and was thinking of using a 12v 2.3amp battery...
