nope, changing the tv volume with the control has no effect on my headphones volume. the optical audio output is fixed line

i think it is the noise coming from the source being amplified because i have my volume very high so i guess its normal   that said is there any amps/dacs that is capable of reducing this kind of noise?

when i turn up the volume real loud, during the quiet parts i can hear a staticy sound, sounds like "chhhhhhhhh".   - what is this noise called? static? distortion? - what can i do to remove it if possible? or reduce it? besides lowering the volume. do certain dac/amps help with this?   ps...

I have no idea what TCXO is. Can you briefly explain it and the purpose of the upgrade?

After lots of researching I've narrowed it down to the NFB-11 to pair with my HD598. Just want to make sure I didn't overlook anything. Is there any other amp/dac that's a better choice than the NFB-11 when pairing with the HD598?
