nope, changing the tv volume with the control has no effect on my headphones volume. the optical audio output is fixed line

i think it is the noise coming from the source being amplified because i have my volume very high so i guess its normal   that said is there any amps/dacs that is capable of reducing this kind of noise?

when i turn up the volume real loud, during the quiet parts i can hear a staticy sound, sounds like "chhhhhhhhh".   - what is this noise called? static? distortion? - what can i do to remove it if possible? or reduce it? besides lowering the volume. do certain dac/amps help with this?   ps...

After lots of researching I've narrowed it down to the NFB-11 to pair with my HD598. Just want to make sure I didn't overlook anything. Is there any other amp/dac that's a better choice than the NFB-11 when pairing with the HD598?

still new to these terms but say for an amp that is on the warm side.. does that mean more musical?

Thanks. I too am currently using the E17 with my 598. But I'm looking to upgrade to the NFB-11/15 for better SQ.   Just worried if going the NFB-11 route would lose out on noticeable warmth, since the E17 is warm.

hmm.. disappointed with how it feels. i dont find these as comfortable as everyone makes them out to be. the earcups that is. going from the hd598 to this, i found the 598's earcups to be vastly more comfortable (nice and soft like clouds). not a fan of the hd700's tilting earcups kind of...

most headphones have 2 wires. one in the left earcup and the other in the right. im wondering is it possible to somehow make them into 1 wire? for example the hd598 is only 1 wire which goes into the left earcup. having 1 wire in each earcup bothers me
