Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
An interesting rumour was made known to me today that Schiit is planning a new product. Basically an active subwoofer in balanced configuration utilising two bass drivers in push-pull and driven independently by each half of the balanced circuit. It’s working product-name is Fenrir. The...- Andrew Randle

I believe it isn’t all-in-one. It is an adapter and socket saver of the same style and tightly fitted together. I did the same a while back with a gold one. Andrew- Andrew Randle

As a fellow Brit, I loved Texas when I went there for a telecoms standards forum. It was at Fort Worth and was intrigued with the rifle culture, and played a few games of pool with the locals - Super Bowl happened to be on at the same time. Andrew- Andrew Randle

This is likely to be a massive improvement. Valves will change their sound characteristics with the anode voltage - and the trick is to find that sweet-spot anode voltage. Andrew- Andrew Randle

Great writeup on what will be an awesome product. Here’s a chapter idea based on your article and my recent thoughts about the Vidar 2: something covering power vs loudspeaker load would be great - including singled ended vs balanced capability when it comes to impedance rating, current...- Andrew Randle

Opening the box, finding a physical manual, and reading the Stoddard-isms, are all part of the ownership experience. I also appreciate Edit2, as that ties into my “sustainability” question a month-or-so ago. Andrew- Andrew Randle

If you have concern about the electrics, ask for an electrical safety check and ensure the building is earthed with a lightning conductor. If there is a surge, it will not be anything to do with the house. For example if there is a problem with an outside substation or nearby factory. Andrew- Andrew Randle

Thanks for trying, and letting us know about the surge protector. An even better notion - that building three low cost good quality cables (i.e. from Mogami, Canare, and Klotz) and choosing the one that best synergises with your system, is probably going to give a better outcome than blindly buying an $X,000 cable. Synergy is king. Andrew- Andrew Randle

Yep exactly, I also solder the screen to only the source end. Leaving the earth to return just through the core, while maintaining EM screening. The standout feature of these cables is a reduction in treble glare. There is major blackground going on there. Andrew- Andrew Randle
