HiFiMan Susvara
They don't sound the same, but they sound far closer than HE1000se and Susvara. HE1000se is never going to kick in the bass regardless of the chain. Maybe we're having different experiences due to silent revisions? 🤷- dubharmonic

None of the eggmen are going to give you a similar experience to Susvara, unfortunately. HE6 is going to be the closest.- dubharmonic

McIntosh Introduces the MHA150!
@Alucard1 I've had the MHA150 for many years and it's been great with Susvara, Abyss, Audeze, Caldera, and Meze planars. The best thing about it is how deep it digs into the lower registers and how effortless it is.- dubharmonic

The JPS Labs: Abyss AB-1266 Impressions Thread
The other day I rediscovered a front damping set from a DCA VOCE while I was listening to the 1266 TC and got curious. The results with black felt are so much better than I expected. The 1266 driver is dynamic enough that every last detail still makes its way through the felt, yet everything...- dubharmonic

They're from the same family but they do sound different. I recommend going to a show to listen to them yourself. It's worth the effort to better understand your tastes.- dubharmonic

The demo at CanJam Chicago was very nice. I'm currently using Woo Audio WA33 / McIntosh MHA150 and Holo Audio Spring 2 KTE with my 1266.- dubharmonic

Thanks for refreshing the EQ topic, I had forgotten to try it the last time I saw it. I prefer stock overall, thought reducing the 1100 Hz range does help the honk in some poorly recorded tracks. For reference, I'm using a 1266 TC / stock cables / base WA33 / AudioQuest Mackenzie / Holo Audio...- dubharmonic

After getting a pair of the Ultrasuede pads for the Diana and loving the shift in timbre, I’m really curious what a suede pad option for the 1266 might sound like. @Abyss Headphones any chance that this might be possible?- dubharmonic

Has anyone tried the AB1266 Phi TC with the Feliks Envy? I loved the Envy with the Susvara. I spent some time with the TC and a DNA Stellaris. There wasn’t enough current to fill out the guts of the TC, though some of the DNA magic still came through. Fingers crossed that some day Donald makes...- dubharmonic

Listening to gear is always fun, but the best part was seeing people! The ZMF room was full of awesome stuff, and it was great to see Zach and Bevin in person again. The new OTL with the Auteur Classic and Atrium was a highlight. It was also great to be able to talk to the Abyss guys... -
