when i turn up the volume real loud, during the quiet parts i can hear a staticy sound, sounds like "chhhhhhhhh".   - what is this noise called? static? distortion? - what can i do to remove it if possible? or reduce it? besides lowering the volume. do certain dac/amps help with this?   ps...

After lots of researching I've narrowed it down to the NFB-11 to pair with my HD598. Just want to make sure I didn't overlook anything. Is there any other amp/dac that's a better choice than the NFB-11 when pairing with the HD598?

most headphones have 2 wires. one in the left earcup and the other in the right. im wondering is it possible to somehow make them into 1 wire? for example the hd598 is only 1 wire which goes into the left earcup. having 1 wire in each earcup bothers me

I'm currently using the Fiio E17 & E09K dac/amp combo with the HD598. Would it be worth upgrading to a NFB-15 or NFB-11 if my goal was better sound quality? I'm not sure if the 598 would produce better sound if I did said upgrade.

Hello. Can someone tell me how far I have to turn the volume notch in the E09K to match the same volume that of 12gain 60volume in the E17?

I have the E17 and I'm on max volume settings (12gain, 60volume) and I want more volume. Would getting the E09K and using it's volume controls over the E17 produce higher volume than the E17's max volume?

I am using the Fiio E17 with my HD598's and when I put the volume on high (6gain 60volume) I can hear some noise in the background on loud parts.   I am wondering if there is such a thing as an amp that would completely remove this noise? If not, what is the best amp at removing as much noise...
